@ OGEazy – it really isn’t surprising. These J.Cole fans are saying his album will be better than Illmatic and Illmatic took years to go platinum, etc. They have no sense of hip hop history.
There is a lot of J. Cole stans on this site so from a “normal” J. Cole fans point of view everything he has released in 2010 has been flat out trash. If you listen to everything he released in 2009 compared to this year it’s like comparing Plies to Nas. His beats have gotten very boring and his hooks have been non creative/lazy. At this point J. Cole is very overhyped because he only has 1 very good mixtape on his resume. Any rapper can put out 1 very good mixtape, so how about he release another one since he is so dope? To call this dude “dope” or “great” off of 1 very good mixtape just shows the ignorance of hip hop fans these days. I mean Diggy Simmons has put out more material than J. Cole for Christ sakes. lol J. Cole is an unproven artist and he will be until he releases more PROJECTS. I am not talking about a freestyle here and there, I am talking about an actual mixtape/album. The Come Up, The Warm Up, and the Blow Up (I know it’s not official) are all above average mixtapes. There is always a more cohesive and impressive sensation when listening to a full CD/mixtape rather than streaming individual tracks when they listen.
Aside from that, I’ve never gotten any negative feedback showing new/old J. Cole to new listeners.
One more point-NOT anyone can make a good mixtape. That’s a ludicrous statement, and you should be evaluated for insanity.
