Dopee songg.
>>>>than drakes new radio rip
Wow I’m blown away. Hope more of the CD is of this quality, but really what else can we expect from the roots besides (2)dopeness?
Black Thought>>>
YESS!
thank fuckin jesus.
What about How I Got Over? I love that song.
Black Thought sounds cooold. This a a flip of that Monsters of Folk song they performed together on Jimmy Fallons show. I’m glad that show led to something good.
man, the roots will never fall off. black thought is one of the best, never gets the respect other MC’s get.
im excited bout this album but this album has a bunch of features too, even tho all of em are dope i would have still like to see Black Thought go for dolo on more songs like this one
This shit is fucking sick. Looking forward to this album!
YESSSS THAT PURE HIP HOP WITH SOUL/MEANING damn this goes in, I already play How I Got Over almost every day..can’t wait for this album
This production is perfect.
damn now thats fuckin hip hop
Great song, I love The Roots
Glad I listened to this after the Drake song, helped get that terrible taste out of my mouth.
Dope!!!!!!!!!
LOVE the new derection in production. it is a welcome change from their last two albums. this album will be fire.
I need that song with Blu to Drop like last year!!!
This was incredible. The alternative soul hook drew me in IMMEDIATELY, the production was superb, and when has Black Thought ever NOT delivered quality lyrics?
New Gravatar, click my name!!!!!!!!

@JonnieHayward Music Blog

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmWOJEYjp3Y&feature=player_embedded
Greatest band on planet earth!
@Jonnie
The talking at the beginning is stupid, in a bad way. Also i don’t know if its your mic, or what, but that effect on your voice is dumb too. The rapping is pretty decent though, just don’t spend 30 seconds on a 90 sec song talking and mumbling.
The alternative soul hook? lol. What the fuck is wrong with people?
Go listen to Monsters of Folk.
Dope track but some ignorant responses
this song set the standard on what it is to be real music.
Until BT came in, I thought I was going to hate this song. Mr. Trotter needs to link up with Mr. Jones (and Sir Marley).
Good God this is a great song. I cant wait to purchase the album
@3L
Thought is halfway there. he already did a song on Jr Gongs ” Pimpa’s Paradise”. An Amazing song.
*On Jr. Gongs “Welcome To Jamrock,” Called Pimpa’s Paradise.
yo this song is dope, btw you guys should check out my music, i only got one song for now but theres more coming, myspace.com/itzglitch im from NH and trust me im not some dude who rap’s about money and hoes, i rap about real shit, thanks and much love, pce
FUCK NAWWWWWWW
ORIGINAL SOUND. Not the prescribed quick drums of today’s mainstream radio rap. Roots are that REAL.
oh my this is fucking dope
quest’s drummin’ is always fresh and black thought did his thing, this shit is hot and THIS is how you use a white boy on a hook. not that young money ‘we made it’ shit… that rock/hip hop meshing shit is corny, because no one does it right. apart from a joint like this, the last song I can recall where it was done right was ‘heard ‘em say’ kanye & adam levine off maroon 5… even ‘beach chair’ with jay & chris martin on kingdom come wasn’t too bad either
“black thought is one of the best, never gets the respect other MC’s get”
^^^yet every comment here has been positive (deservedly), yet the Drake/Jeezy single gets hated on. I like this song, but y’all don’t need to act like the Roots are some mad underappreciated never-heard of group. They’re on the Jimmy Fallon show, have had a long and successful career, have had plenty of exposure etc etc.
It’s the commercially successful MC’s that don’t get any respect.
Damn… This is hot! I can already tell I’m buying this record when it comes out.
@twitter.com/BJCPS4life
In 2010 this is what hip hop should sound like. This is grown man music.
Cannot wait 4 How I got Over
This is the essence of REAL hip-hop, not even that, REAL music in general. I love all the new freshmans and all, but this song is the result of veterans!!!
you guys are idiots
damn, this album sounds like it’s gonna be a downer. still >>>>>>> everything else out now
“if everything is made in china are we chinese?”
…lol what
nah, this is amazing though
Dope as per usual. Since it seems to be that kind of party…check this out & let me know what y’all think…
http://usershare.net/eestwood/c1hpk1peko4x
@FuckingTruth the talkin kinda goes along wit da concept of da tape supposed to be a host at a jazz cafe so yea but I plan on gettin a better microphone soon so thatll take care of da vocal quality
ill
@Jonnie…
That shit sound fine, man. I don’t know what that dude talkin’ bout.
SO F*CK’N DOPE!! Can’t wait for this album.
@ clint partie^^yea I kno, most people on here nitpick and find somethin to criticize…but I kno wat he’s sayin, just not takin it too seriously
so good. so so so good. this is real music. this is real hip hop.
this is not pop music. thank god. thank you roots.
this shitis dope as fuck.
black thought>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Questlove>>>>>>>>> MOST other drummers
roots never do wrong
Man, the Roots just can’t stop making good music.

Rick Ross speaks candidly with Boss Lady from DrJays.com about overcoming major career obstacles, where his strength comes from, his huge figurine collection and much more.
wonderful. not a happy song but we knew where the album was going since “HIGO” came out.
Black Thought never disappoints and always amazes.
This was fantastic!
Love the Monsters Of Folk beat
WHICH IS BETTER GAME THEORY OR RISING DOWN ?
Rising Down. Its got more bangers. The Roots crew do that minor key hiphop better than anybody else and I cant deny the truths Tariq is elucidating BUT I want something like Web or I cant Help it!
Great, great song. Black Thought, top 10 mc…
Black Thought is the most underrated
Lol at the JonnieHayward imposter up there postin shit about officer ricky up there
this songs reminds me why i felt in love with hip hop in a first place.
@Mnimic:
“this songs reminds me why i felt in love with hip hop in a first place.”
i smell a sexual harassment lawsuit. leave hip-hop alone please.
Lmao
Ill, but no surprise it is THE ROOTS.
I HOPE THE ALBUM DOESN’T GET PUSHED BACK
DAT PERCUSSION
Amazing song. I love it. Can’t wait for the album
holy jesus. all yall bitchin about 9 songs can listen to this and suck it. please tell me the last album with 9 dope ass tracks and I’ll buy it. not saying that it’s a guaranteed 9 fire tracks, but by listening to this I can say that a lot of you naysayers might change your mind
whoa!
black thought is on point. Who is the singer? Nice dark roots sound
this just made my day. june 22nd!!!
I was a bit worried at first..then Black Thought’s verse came in and everything fell into place. can’t wait for the new album by the legendary roots crew!
yeah, and if you’re talking about past work…you might wanna start earlier. Do You Want More?!!?!! might be their best album, imo
The intro reminds me of/sounds like something Sade would do
riq fuckin geez.
i think Illadelph Halflife was thier best work actually
glad to here a hip hop song that actually deals with the things going on in the present. Rappers talk a whole lot of sassafrass about clubs and money when we are in some pretty bad times economically.
agree^^^
this is EPIC!!!!! WTF!!!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ROOTS?! Wherever you were…i’m glad you’re back.
THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME. FINALLY some REAL music.
a second is a minute every hour is infinite fuckin ill black
GOD’S REPLY: Thanks for the song. It is HEARTfelt and MINDful yet if you really knew or remembered who YOU really were, as my Perfect Creation and extension of my Grandeur, you would know that it is only in your mind that you suffer. The world is but a dream. Indeed, it is seemingly real and this is what you must awake from. Music helps. Thanks Roots!!!
beautiful music…its what The Roots are known for
100th comment
is this 1 right here baby
wow can’t wait for the album
dead
