1. Walk Alone (Truck North, Porn, Dice Raw, Mercedes Martinez)
2. Dear God 2.0 (Jim James, MOF)
3. Radio Daze (Blu, Porn, Dice Raw, Mercedes Martinez)
4. Now Or Never (Phonte Coleman, Dice Raw)
5. How I Got Over (Dice Raw)
6. The Day (Blu, Phonte Coleman, Patty Crash)
7. Right On (Joanna Newsom, Sugar Tongue Slim)
8. Doin It Again (John Legend)
9. The Fire (John Legend, Rick Friedrich)
Tracks three and six are what I’m paying the most attention to. Props to the homie Aqua.
PREVIOUS: The Roots – Dilla Joints (Mixtape)

this is gonna b dope. 9songss..not much so im expecting quality..remember when u used to get just 10 tracks of fire..now u get 25 tracks of filler.
blu.
WHERES THE OTHER 5 SONGS?
YOU LAZY ROOTS. YOU GET A GRAMMY AND YOU THINK CAN RELEASE 9 TRACK ALBUMS???
Oh snap its Blu!
Speaking of good music where the fuck is Scarface’s mixtape?
Blu!!!
Blu & Phonte on 2 tracks each = instant purchase
dam this looks nice. lots of guests; hope black thought doesn’t take a back seat on this one, but then again, rising down had a lot of guests too. i kind of like how short it is. going to get 9 quality tracks in june (hopefully). definitely purchasing this one.
I heard they got the chicks from the Dirty Projectors to do the intro and interludes
This is a must buy. Phonto & Blu?! 9 tracks is perfect…all we need.
i love short sub 10 track albums!!!! this one’s got classic written all over it. can’t wait for june!
Blu and the Roots…awwwww snap i’m excited for this
oh man… this is gonna be good.
looks great, what’s the release date?
Somebody please tell me why blu is so great?!? I don’t fuckin see it!!!
any clue on how long the album will run? 45min at the least i hope.
Really looking forward to this, really REALLY. I’ve never heard a wack Roots album…even The Tipping Point was bangin’, despite purists saying that was their sellout album. The Roots sell out? Sheeeeeeeeeeit.
@ cam:
You tell US why you think Blu isn’t great…
They Should Release The Live Sessions Of Jimmy Fallon Show
only 9 tracks?
and I thought they were going to cover cody chesnutt’s “serve this royalty” track…
wow a 9 track album.. sadd
9 tracks???? I understand that 9 quality songs is better than an album with 16 songs in which most are fillers but give me a break. This is edging closer to an EP than an Album….coming from a HUGE Roots fan who has there entire catalague
DAMN BLU ON TWO TRACKS!!!!!!!!!! PHONTE ON TWO TRACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pre ordered this shit last year really happy i did all i got to say is Black Thought, Blu & Phontigga on a record together???!!! = HO Lee Shit!!!!!!! PEACE!!
tay blu mof legend are great looks but i kinda wanted less collabs after a bloated Rising Down. and 9 tracks looks a tad short but i wont pass judgement on that until i hear the product
blu?!?!?! :D
i need more tracks, wtf?
Its been said before but BLU, PHONTE AND THE FUCKIN ROOTS!!!
Can’t Wait for this… blu & the roots dammm.
Looks a little short and theres not much room for Black Thought to breathe on these tracks. Hopefully all these tracks are 6 minutes each
9 tracks? guests on every song? what happened to the Serve This Royalty cover with Cody ChestnuTT?
JOHNSON BARNES I SEE YOU!!!!!!!!!!
and tariq ia my favorite mc! (i say that in every roots post)
9 bumbaclot tracks?! hope this is solid roots crew!
Blu’s on 2 joints? Niiiiice. The Roots always drops quality shit, this should be sick.
Not feeling the cover but from the looks of things this is gonna be dope.
This looks really dope. I’m glad to see Dice Raw all over this. People sleep on his contributions to the Roots catalog. I hope that Phonte and Blu are rapping on these joints, although they’ll probably still be dope even if they’re not.
Yeah I lost all interest in the roots after rising down. i only liked the joint with the ghost and mos off of it. the features are really killing their work. This is really sad to see that there are even more on this one.
Sweeeet.
@D. $cience
i mean he decent. i dont see wat all the hype is about tho. nuffin special ta me
*shrugs*
def buying this.. roots, phonte, blu.. all really dope
BLU
btw okayplayer says this is NOT a final tracklist. so everyone cool the fuck off.
This has a lot of potential. I don’t know what’s with all the complaints about the album length. Tipping Point was only one track longer than this. One thing I do have to say though is where the hell is Malik B!
9 songs? ah well. guest features by phonte, blu and john legend = cop.
Phonte and Jim James are what I’m looking forward to. Jim James (my morning jacket) probably has the best voice I’ve heard in a long while.
as well as Joanna Newsome. ridic lineup.
Over at Okayplayer.com, the list has a total of 11 tracks, and said it’s not complete.
I’m not the one to comment about tracklists but this right here looks amazing
I went to a listening session last night and Radio Daze,The Title track and The Day are head nodders. The Jonh Legend joint DOIN IT AGAIN is FIRE! and NOW OR NEVER had the whole room going crazy (or maybe it was just the Hennessey ;-p)
I’m definitely picking this up
I’ve waited this long for only 9 tracks? Better be good. Roots never disappoint though…Better be a classic!
okayplayer has 2 more tracks “Web 20/20 (Truck North, Peedi Crakk)” & a yet-to-be-titled bonus cut.
also there are 4 interludes w/ own track names.
so actually 15 tracks…
BUY.
@cam… listen to Johnson&Jonson, its blu and mainframe with some classic stuff especially “hold on” and “been a long time”
…and people need to stop complaining about the tracks, the roots steadily put out shit so its not like these the last nine tracks you get. plus people forget that they have full time jobs on top of this
In the meantime while yall are bussin a nut over Blu and Phonte, JOANNA NEWSOM BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! that’s what the fuck is up!! The End
