When WordSpit and company first auditioned for America’s Got Talent (check their final performance on the show here), the crew covered Phil Collin’s “In The Air Tonight” the only way they know how. Take a listen to the studio recording below.
As performed on America’s Got Talent, WordSpit and company finally decide to release the audio for their track “New York, New York.”
We wanted to capture the euphoric moment of destroying the first audition and making it into the Vegas round of America’s Got Talent. We decided to go with our rendition of “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra. Not only did this represent where we came from (New York City) but it also represented our desire to perform in the live rounds which was held in our home Town.
Much applause goes to WordSpit & The ILLest! for their run on the NBC competition. Unfortunately, they were recently eliminated not by America’s vote, but by the judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osborn. Here is their last performance on the show, and congrats again goes out to the crew.
WordSpit and crew head to Las Vegas for prep for their continued run on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. This coming Monday (July 16th) WordSpit & The ILLest take the stage at New Jersey Performing Art Center for the live rounds of the show; don’t forget to support!
After making it to Las Vegas after their opening round performance, Wordspit and Co. hit the America’s Got Talent stage once again and impressed the judges enough to advance to the live rounds of the show later this summer. Congrats once again guys.

Last night the homie Wordspit and the nine piece NYC-based ensemble The ILLest took the stage at Hammerstein Ballroom for NBC’s America’s Got Talent. And in the words of Howard Stern himself, they “blew the roof off”. Receiving definite yes’s from each of the judges and will be making their way to Vegas for the next round. Congrats bruh!!
Random title I know. But here are two clips from the homie WordSpit. Up top, he jumps on stage during Kendrick’s show at SOBs to rock over Rigamortis. And down bottom he kicks some lines over a Grey Matter beat box.
With the homie Lowkey handling the hosting duties, WordSpit and his team coordinated a concert to help raise awareness on HIV/AIDS and help educate people on how to prevent the disease.
Last week, Rocawear held an exclusive freestyle session where guests were invited to experience the live taping and recording of the first “That’s Rocawear” Mixtape.
