A couple weeks back, ScHoolboy Q took over Vegas and put on one helluva show. Afterwards, yours truly and my man Andreas Hale over at TheWellVersed caught up with him for a brief conversation. In part one, Q talks about how he linked up with TDE, what he would be doing today if it wasn’t for rapping, working with Alchemist and how folks that used to give him the cold shoulder are now asking for features. UPDATE: Back to the top with footage of Q rocking out at the Smokefest in San Bernardino this past weekend.
Ever since I got word that Killer Mike and El-P were joining forces for a joint LP, I’ve been eagerly awaiting it’s release. A couple weeks ago we got the first drop w/ Bun B, T.I. and Trouble and it didn’t disappoint. The other night, Mike held a listening session and from the looks of it I see Nelly, T.I., Sean Falyon (of course), Sha Stimuli, Playboy Tray and others came through and showed love. R.A.P. Music (Rebellious African People’s Music) can’t come soon enough.
After taking last week off, we’re back with the third installment of QuESt’s Fear Not Failure visual project. In the clip above, Q pours his heart out over a lost love w/ the help of Adele.
Before the present fans of the Greykid come in and take my head for “being late”, I just wanted to submit my late pass and keep it moving. Anways, I first caught onto the VA native’s music by a fan-submitted email. First listen was the above video for Note to Pharrell (I Just Wanna Be A Writer), then came the Coodie & Chike-directed video for Here We Are. After digging both the visuals and the music, I decided to give his Grey Skies and Grey Skies 2 mixtapes a spin. Same result? Yes. So if you’re like me, use this post and catch up… and maybe dude will come through with some new material soon enough.
