Last night Tony Touch paid respect to two of hip hop’s fallen legends. The first two hours were dedicated to J Dilla while the second half was in honor of Big Pun. UPDATE: It’s quite sad that there are so few comments on this post. I also added Black Thought’s tribute freestyles in a seperate .zip; after the jump Mek provided an interview that the home girl YaYa had with Dilla’s brother Illa J; and click here to read XXL’s “lost” interview with all four members of Slum Village.
The Big Pun tribute featured cameos from Just Blaze, Sean C & LV, Juju (of The Beatnuts), Green Lantern, N.O.R.E. and more. Shouts to nation on the linkage.
Brand new collab from Freddie Gibbs and Pill that was premiered on Toca Tuesdays w/ Tony Touch. Here goes a high quality soundboard recording form the show. CDQ coming soon. Shouts to Alex.
Tony Touch and Shade 45 wanted to do something to celebrate a great 2009 for Toca Tuesdays, as well as prepare for an even better 2010. To do this, DJ Tony Touch put together some of the best freestyle from 2k9 and is putting them up for download. The mixtape features freestyles from artists like: J. Cole, Redman & Method Man, Wale, Slaughterhouse, Skyzoo, Sean Price, and many more.
Talib talks with Tony Touch about how the Just Begun (Reflectional Eternal x Jay Electronica x J. Cole x Mos Def) track came about. The RE:Union mixtape available now, Revolutions Per Minute coming soon.
Jay Elec-Ramadan and Justin Credible sat down with Tony Touch to talk about… oh, I dunno. I’m currently too enthralled in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to really care about music right now. But from what Tim says…
- Act II on Christmas is once again confirmed, if there are problems, sometimes before New Years.
- Jay Electronica mentions Nas on Act II in plural, and confirms they’ve done more work together.
I posted the audio the other night, now here goes the visuals of Sean Price’s time on Tony Touch’s Shade45 show. Before the bars are unleashed, they speak on Kimbo Price (which is available now), his previous projects, Duck Down and more.
Part 2 (of the 3 part series) features Ghostdini stopping by DJ Clue & Tony Touch’s radio shows. This is cool and all, and I enjoy the album. But after this trailer dropped, all I can think about is Ghost x Rae x Meth album haha.
Marshall is back on Shade45 for another interview. This time he sits down with Tony Touch for a special 5yr Anniversary show. Shouts to Illy for getting his rip game proper on. Too bad this was just an exact mirror as DJ Whoo Kid’s interview. Can someone ask some real questions. Quit letting Pauly Rosenberg feed you a list to read off!
Skyzoo & 9th Wonder chop it up with Tony Touch about The Salvation (which is in stores now), how they linked up and 9th’s tape with David Banner. 9th also reveals he’s doing more albums with Buckshot and Murs (called For Never). The clip ends with Sky spitting off the top (like he’s been doing for all his recent interviews). Very refreshing shit! Hit the jump for Ghost’s interview…
