That’s right folks… the day has arrived! If you’re in NYC I strongly advise you hit the Highline Ballroom at 7pm to catch CunninLynguists, Tonedeff, PackFM, Substantial, Mr. SOS, Kokayi and DJ JS-1 rock the stage, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their independent label.
With just over a week left before CunninLynguists, Tonedeff, PackFM, Substantial and the rest of the QN5 family take the stage at the Highline Ballroom in NYC for this year’s Megashow, we’re still going strong with the giveaways.
Shouts to Zach Gase for winning our second contest. Now it’s time for week three… a chance at 2 tickets to the Megashow and an autographed copy of Tonedeff’s Cold.Killed.Collected 2CD. All you’ve gotta do is answer the question below.
What year did Tonedeff launch the full HIP HOP line-up of the QN5 roster?
For a helpful hint, head on over to QN5’s website. Winner will be picked at random. Good luck!
In promotion for the upcoming QN5 Megashow (August 19th, Highline Ballroom in NYC) Tonedef recounts his favorite memory from 2009′s show. Also, each week the dopehouse will be holding contests to win a pair of tickets and an autographed CD from the family. This week we’ve got CunninLynguists’ Oneirology up for grabs. Head over here to enter.
Live and direct from Canadialand. JS-1′s No One Cares drops June 21st, and for the latest offering he links up with his QN5 co-conspirator for another one.
A little late notice, I know. But I have two pairs of tickets to check out CunninLynguists, Homeboy Sandman, Tonedeff and Blue Sky Black Death live at the El Rey in Los Angeles tonight at 10pm. If you can honestly make it and would like to attend a super dope show, hit the c-section and announce your favorite song from any of the artists (along w/ your correct email). I’ll pick two winners for a +1 and I’ll hit you asap.
Kno just hit me and gave me the go ahead to give away a few tickets to tonight’s show at Slim’s in San Francisco. I’ll make this one easy on y’all… just hit the c-section and recite your favorite line from any of the artists listed above. Make sure you include your actual email in the correct field and be around so that I can get in contact with you (if you’re you’re chosen that is). Good luck.
And in case you need a visual reminder of how dope these guys are live, check here, here and here. Hell… type “CunninLynguists” in the sidebar to your right and have at it.
TheBeeShine catches up with PackFM and Tonedeff to see what inspires them to do what they do. Also, if you’re in the Southern Cali area this weekend, be sure to catch CunninLynguists, Homeboy Sandman and Tonedeff at the El Rey this Friday (as shown on the flyer to your right).
In November of 2009, Tonedeff spent an entire weekend combing through every image ever posted on LastNightsParty.com – drawing inspiration from the countless photographically captured moments of drug-addled, fuck-ready, party people who only exist at the center of the universe. Fast forward to 2011 and that very distinct vibe is finally being released on the new single from Swedish minimalist techno/house production duo, Boeoes Kaelstigen.
To celebrate finally obtaining the rights to the “Tonedeff” username on YouTube, the good folks at QN5 have uploaded the entire Archetexture: Designing the Archetype DVD that accompanied 2005′s Archetype. Breaking down one of my favorite albums of the last decade track by track.
