Second single off the Living Legend’s 2009 release, Three Eyes Off the Time. Originally intended to be released next week with the video following the week after, but released early as the song was inspired by a Guru line from Gang Starr’s Who’s Gonna Take the Weight. Check out his site for his thoughts on Guru’s personal influence to himself and his peers.
The two masterminds behind one of the dopest albums of the year (Boy Meets World, available now) speak on the upcoming How The Grouch Stole Christmas tour that begins on December 2nd in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hit the jump for the rest of the cities/dates.
First single off The Grouch’s upcoming project Three Eyes Off the Time, which drops December 8th. Check the above promo video for a preview of another joint called I Love This Game.
On December 8th the Living Legends member is releasing a new project that sounds like it’s going to be quite refreshing…
In today’s maniacally fast paced and highly interconnected digital world filled with 140 character updates, constant availability, and staggering voyeurism it is easy to become overwhelmed. However, this winter, The Grouch is taking his eyes off the rat race and urges his listeners to join him as he unplugs and reconnects himself to the physical and spiritual worlds. The Grouch offers, “What I’m trying to say with the title is that, I’m well aware of what’s going on in the world around me, and I too utilize all the tools available, but I will no longer participate at the level of foolishness that has become the norm. I think it’s time people get in tune with how powerful we really are.”
The quote above mirrors some of my exact thoughts as of late. Hit the jump for the tracklist…
I was actually hoping this track would be a nice exclusive on the upcoming project the dopehouse is working on with Brother Ali, but RSE has different plans haha. First leak off BK-One’s upcoming album, Rádio Do Canibal, dropping October 6th. Pre-order now.
Better known as Brother Ali’s DJ, BK-One takes his years of experience as a DJ and puts on his producer hat joining forces with up and coming Twin Cities beatsmith Benzilla to craft a Brazilian musical bed for some of Hip Hop’s most engaging MC’s. Rádio Do Canibal features appearances by Scarface, Slug (Atmosphere), Black Thought (The Roots), Brother Ali, Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan), Murs (Living Legends), Phonte (Little Brother), Haiku D’ Etat (Aceyalone, Myka 9 & Abstract Rude), Blueprint, P.O.S. (Doomtree), The Grouch (Living Legends), I Self Devine, Toki Wright, Aby Wolf and The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.
First leak off FWMJ’s Rappers I Know & Funkadelic Freestyles‘ next installment of their collaborative efforts; Volume II: Back in the Game. Another full-length project featuring all new/unreleased music from the likes of Blu, The Foundation, Bilal, Kokayi and more. Look for the entire project to drop on August 18th, with Volume III: This is Overtime having a September release.
It didn’t have a system either so I filled the back with a bunch of house speakers
- Slug
Third single off The Grouch & Eligh’s latest release, Say G&E, which is in stores now. Featuring Slug (of Atmosphere) and Amplive (of Zion I) on the production. Yes, the album has been out for a little while, but the duo is now offering the single up for free download. So I figure it was worth a post. A video is also in the works as well.
