Talib Kweli Calls Out Rick Ross Over Rape Lyric

During a HuffPost Live segment, Talib Kweli called in to share his thoughts on Rick Ross’ recent line on Rocky’s “U.O.E.N.O.” (Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it)/ I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it) and his bullshit “misunderstanding” excuse. Expressing he doesn’t think Ross is “evil” or that hip hop is to blame, but he does need teaching.

I don’t care if Rick Ross is 40 years old — he’s a misguided 40-year-old person. Rick Ross condoned rape in that song… and he should apologize. And his apology that he offered was unacceptable.

The 35-minute discussion also includes talk of Lil Wayne’s Emmett Till line, artistic freedom and more. Watch after the jump.
