Stik Figa and D/Will created an auditory roller coaster with last year’s hellogoodbye. The album, a bittersweet concept of suicide notes to Stik Figa’s son, ended with a single gunshot.
Now the duo is back to deliver Alive & Well. While it picks off where the last album left off, it also takes a new, more vibrant and engaging approach. Stik Figa is a rappers-rapper, no singing, no gimmicks. And D/Will has pushed himself even further on the MPC, bringing in live guitars, keys and more. Enjoy.
After the dark intensity of last year’s banger Hello, Goodbye, Stik Figa and D/Will are gearing up to return with Alive and Well. D/Will is producing a series of projects this year and Whatupwidit is just a sneak peak at what Stik Figa’s Alive and Well (release date tba) will hold.
The sonic voyage continues with the “Kansas Bay (South Central Remix)” featuring Kansas City native, Stik Figa. The Midwest meets the West Coast in this re-imagining, which finds Stik Figa riding the wave of a beat steeped in G-funk and dripping with bass.
Off Approach and Ill Poetic’s upcoming album Aloe Park, which drops in April. And as a bonus I’ve included a joint w/ P.O.S. that was featured on the Kansas City emcee’s 2008 release Welcome to Share.
Seemingly out of no where, today was some type of unofficial mixtape/ep release date for many artists. Incase you missed something as there were a mass amount of posts today; I’ve included links to all of them in a nice wrap up post. The list is as followed…

It’s no secret that I’m a stan for all things D/Will ever since he was featured as a (2)Dope To Sleep On (we gotta bring those back soon) artist. So I’m more that ecstatic to give to the masses the latest project between him and Stik Figa, hellogoodbye:
To delight in the wonder of the MPC is to go on a voyage of audio soul. And to master words is to liberate yourself. So when a producer and emcee come together, they can not only tell a story, they can engage the listener and make them feel things. Some good, some bad. D/Will and Stik Figa did just that with hellogoodbye.
There is no Batman-Robin complex in this duo. Instead, the beats and rhymes work together to deliver the best that each artist has to offer. D/Will says this is his finest production to date and Stik Figa went no holds barred creating a harrowing and complicated concept of suicide notes to his son. The result? An album that takes its listener on a bittersweet journey.
