Slum Village show off the album cover to their upcoming LP, Evolution, out June 25 via Ne’Astra Music. The 20th anniversary project features contributions from Blu, Havoc, Raheem Devaughn, Jazzy Jeff, Rapper Big Pooh, Focus… and more.
On top of dropping a new visual earlier today, the 2013 rendition of Slum Village kick some bars while on air with Tony Touch.

If this had come out, say, twenty years ago, the hip-hop world would have had its collective minds blown. Better later than never, I suppose. This actually won’t land on Havoc’s upcoming album 13, and I have no idea why, but you should add it the your playlists as a “bonus track” regardless.

Twenty years ago three friends from Conant Gardens, Michigan – Baatin, J Dilla and T3 – got together and would go on to form one of the most influential hip hop groups of all time. Sadly, two of the three original members have passed on, but SV and their their respective legacies live on with this new track from their upcoming album Evolution, set to drop in June.

Slum Village return with their Mick Boogie-hosted Dirty Slums 2 mixtape, the Detroit trio’s first release since 2010′s Villa Manifesto. Guilty Simpson, Joe Scudda, Rapper Big Pooh, and more all make appearances on the 15-track offering. Stream and download it after the jump, courtesy of DJ Booth.
