This is dope. I’m not crazy familiar with Now On but my man William gave the following response when I asked, “dope as fuck”. I hit the internets to get their first album and after some listens I agree. Migrating from the D to the west coast, Now On teamed up with Shawn Jackson for this new cut. September 30th marks the day of the release to their sophomore album, Tomorrow Already. Thanks for the look Stephanie! Three Detroit related posts in a row? There must be something in the water…
A while back Shake introduced us to Los Angeles’ Shawn Jackson, and the response have been positive. So, with his album First Of All… in stores now, here’s a few other audio treats from the guy out West, all produced by Snowman. Props to Classic Drug References for this one.
Skimming through NMC affiliate/greatest blogger alive eskay’s site, I saw word that one of my current favorite groups – Pac Div to youse – reportedly signed a deal with Universal. Many congrats! If more of these dope acts actually get deals (*cough U-N-I, El Prez, Shawn Jackson cough*), perhaps I won’t have to get my music the cyber-Ski Mask Way anymore.
I was just about to hit the sheets and let Immortal Tech hold the top spot for the AM but then I had to go and check my email. My man Jon dropped me a link to this new video from So. Cal’s Shawn Jackson. When you listen to this guy you can tell he has that old school instilled in him but he balances it out with today’s music. Great overall sound imo. I’ve been following up on him since Soul Searching which I think was in ’02 (don’t quote me). Regardless, peep the video. And if you’re diggin it, he’s got an album dropping July 8th, First of All….
