Outside the White Van Music release party in Seattle, Jake One speaks on his (incredibly dope) new album that drops October 8th! One of my favorite albums of the year and actually the first cd I played in my new whip (more on that later). Actually… I put in The Great Beat Writer first, because I wanted to hear Rock Kokaine Flow.
I’ve been wanting to make this post for a few weeks now. I believe DJ Hyphen & Grynch can attest haha. Dah well, better late than ever. You might have noticed me dropping random posts dedicated to certain areas (T-Dot, Brooklyn, Cali, etc). This time I decided to take it to the North West. It’s not a post full of brand new shit like usual (some is though) but it’s still worth checking out. Seattle needs to be heard. I’m tellin ya’ll. So check the tracks below and hit the jump for Common Market performing a few joints off their latest album, Tobacco Road, during their stop at KEXP Radio.
When Matt blasted this off earlier today I got a bit tight as it was originally going on the upcoming (2)Dope Mixtape: Cadillac Edition. But no worries as I got myself another exclusive from the Seattle duo. The tape is coming ya’ll, I said August. And I’ll be damned if it’s not here before the month’s end! Anyways, this joint will be featured on Common Market‘s upcoming album, Tobacco Road, dropping September 9th. Trust this shit is bangin! Speaking of Washington. I’ll be out there in 2 weeks for Rock the Bells. Who else is going? Or how about I ask this. Who wants to go? I can grab a few extra passes just let me know! Serious inquiries only!
Jayceon speaks with the homie DJ Hyphen and J. Moore of Sunday Night Sound Session while backstage at KUBE93′s Summer Jam in Seattle last week. They speak on L.A.X., retiring after this album, his ear for beats (which shits on Nas’ haha), the rumor about replacing Mack 10 for the WC reunion and more.
The homie Crooked I sits down with DJ Hyphen (good looks on the shout!) on KUBE93 in Seattle. Hip Hop Weeklys come up (of course) as well as talk of his single with Akon and upcoming album, B.O.S.S. As a bonus, you guys also get a few bars over this A-Trak & Lupe joint. Shake will most likely be in the studio with Crook come Friday so be on the lookout for some exclusive shit! Part 2 and 3 are after the jump. Also, LOV has a shirt collab with Crooked I that can be purchased here.
Ha, gotta love the title of this new Tame One track (you’ll see). This came in my inbox earlier today but I overlooked it on accident. Sorry Matt! So here goes another dope cut featuring Sean P! off Tame One’s upcoming album, Da Ol Jersey Bastard, dropping July29th. And to make up for being late, I’m dropping the title track off the upcoming Tobacco Road LP from Seattle’s Common Market? Yessir!
I’ve been bumpin this tape for about a week or so and it’s fuckin dope! I really like the sound Seattle’s Dyme Def brings to the scene. Hopefully you’ll be seeing some exclusive stuff on the 2DB West Coast Mixtape but we’ll see. Don’t get narcoleptic on us and check the tape. Young Buck, OneBeLo, etc make some guests spots but the show is mostly ran by Fearce Vil, S.E.V. & Brainstorm with incredible production from Bean One.
I’ve been definitely feeling Seattle’s Dyme Def ever since I checked Space Music. Really diggin their whole steez. With a new mixtape, 3BadBrothaas, dropping June 22th I wanted to drop a few tracks. BringItBack is dope! You can’t go wrong with Bean One production and a One Be Lo feature. Shouts to Sermon for the heads up!
