Back in March during SXSW the dopehouse ran into Mibbs, who spoke briefly on his upcoming collaborative EP with producer Scoop DeVille. He’s now let loose the first offering from that project, a five-track freEP that will drop next Tuesday (June 18th) titled FREEBASS.
After dropping the Hall & Oates sampled “One On One” earlier, Scoop DeVille sits down with Whoo Kid on Shade45 to talk about working with Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and others. He also reveals that Kendrick Lamar’s “The Recipe” was originally made for that mythical Detox album people still talk about for some reason. There’s also a version with Damian Marley that hasn’t seen the light of day as well. Interesting.
PREVIOUS: Digital Diamonds (Scoop DeVille, Jonwayne & Chuck Inglish) – Delirious

For the first installment of Scoop DeVille and Famous Stars and Straps new Scoopaloops series, the “Poetic Justice” producer flips a Hall & Oates classic.

Scoop DeVille, Jonwayne, and Chuck Inglish have formed a super group called Digital Diamonds and the trio have released their first leak titled, “Delirious.”
Chopping it up with the LA Leakers, Scoop DeVille speaks on the current success of Kendrick Lamar’s “Poetic Justice” (which he produced in case anyone didn’t know). And at the 3:06 mark, Mibbs of Pac Div crashes the party and the two speak on their upcoming joint EP, entitled Freebass. During the clip we get a preview of the project’s title track and an idea of what’s to come music wise.
PREVIOUS: Jim Jones – Green Light f. Swizz Beatz (prod. Scoop DeVille) [Dirty/CDQ]

Jim Jones enlists Mr. Keys and Scoop DeVille for his latest single release. Clean version for now. UPDATE: Back to the top with the explicit version and official artwork.
In the latest segment of Behind the Beat, FweshlyDipped links up with both DJ Dahi and Rahki to speak on their contribution’s to Kendrick’s major label debut. Up top Rahki provides some insight behind the making of “Black Boy Fly;” while after the jump DJ Dahi re-creates one of my personal favorites in “Money Trees.” UPDATE: I’m not entirely sure if it’s the same “Behind the Beat” series, but Scoop DeVille sat down with DJ City to speak on his work on “Poetic Justice” and “The Recipe” as well.
Sitting down with Yulia from the Rico and Mambo Morning Show, Kid Frost’s baby boy talks about the placements he landed on Kendrick’s major label debut, his father’s impact in hip hop and more.

Despite many folks thinking Dr. Dre produced the good kid, m.A.A.d city bonus cut, Scoop DeVille was actually the man behind the sounds. And now that the album is out, Scoop adds a few additions to the instrumental.

Anyone else enjoying the consistency of these Pac Div releases as of late? Unlike the last two though, this one will actually live on the LA trio’s upcoming GMB album, dropping October 16. This and Automatic? Yeah, they 2-for-2 so far.

The SGODB member links up with a couple familiar faces for this track of his upcoming G.O.D. (Guilty of Dedication), which is set to drop June 12th.
