Travis Barker x Raekwon – Carry It BTS (Pictures)

On the set of Travis Barker and Raekwon’s upcoming video; for a track off Travis’ upcoming solo debut Give the Drummer Some, dropping later this year. UPDATE: Brought this back to the top as Travis spoke with MTV about said song/video.

The song started with RZA and I in my studio, with him playing guitars and me playing drums, just jamming out,” Barker explained. “Then I got Raekwon on it, and I showed it to Tom Morello, who was stoked on it, so he played on it. And that’s how I wanted the video to be.

RZA & GZA Speak On Reuniting at Rock the Bells (Video)

RZA Responds To Jay Electronica

A few weeks ago, a “controversy” was sparked when Jay Electronica addressed some comments RZA made regarding the South in an interview, which honestly, I did not watch in it’s entirety. Things quickly escalated and could have gotten much worse, but being that Jay Electronica is a civilized individual, along with RZA, things simmered down. After hearing / reading both sides, I can now understand where each party is coming from. Both kicked knowledge and wisdom, and with that comes understanding. Peace to the Gods.

“I know I said a few things about the South throughout my career in different periods,” RZA told Sway. “I don’t know the exact comment, but I remember I did an article in Rap Pages years ago, ’cause me and Master P had a talk about this years ago. I was speaking on the education level in the South, how brothers drop out … in the sixth grade — some of them because they have to go to work, some of them because of the poverty, some because they’re not interested in the education system … just a lot of crazy things that people from up North had evolved from. When I was doing this article, I was taking about my own family at first. My family comes from the South. They frying fat back in the kitchen, Grandpops didn’t have more than a sixth-grade reading level. My grandma was a welfare mom.”

The RZA x GZA & Bill Murray – Coffee & Cigarettes

Some of you may or may not recognize the above clip from film director Jim Jarmusch’s 2003 black-and-white film, Coffee & Cigarettes. For those who haven’t seen it, you’re in for a bit of a surprise; these three need a feature length film deal! The relevancy of this post is that I’ve been deeply immersed in Ruler Zig-Zag-Zig Allah’s new book, The Tao of Wu, an excellent read for any of y’all trying to find knowledge of self or just insight on the wisdom of the Universe. Hit this link for the interview with RZA on The Colbert Report, which I remember Mek searching for a few months ago.

GZA x RZA x Liquid Swords 2

Well… it looks like The Chef isn’t the only Wu member bringing back a classic. Earlier today RZA confirmed rumors of him being on the producing end of GZA’s next album. With OBLCL2 being as amazing as it was is, I’m hoping for the best. But if I see/hear a Curtis diss (or anything of that matter) I’m throwing up in everyone’s cereal. Fact.

RZA x iDrum (Video)

So let’s get this straight: you can make beats with Timbaland’s app, add a bassline using RZA’s and finish things off with some Auto-Tuned special effects courtesy of T-Pain’s app, all on the iPhone? No wonder all the recording studios have gone the way of the dodo. good grief. Props to Aqua.

Bring It Back: The Anthem f. RZA, Tech N9ne, Eminem, Xzibit, Pharoahe Monch, Kool G Rap, Jayo Felony, Chino XL & KRS-One [1999]

I know I’ve been slacking on this series but I promise it will be back to full force from here on out. I originally was gonna come in here with an Atmosphere joint but after a brief conversation with an old high school buddy I realized that there are still a ton of folks out there that have never heard this record! Taken off Sway & King Tech’s 1999 release, This Or That, with DJ Revolution. The bonus comes off the same album as well. Enjoy.

More Details On RZA’s Victory or Death Art Project (Video)

On 1.1.10, The RZA will unveil one of the most exclusive releases in his career, Victory or Death, a fine art series of which only 360 prints will be available to the public. Like the concept behind Victory or Death, the artwork itself is multidimensional.

Created over the course of 2009, Victory or Death contains an array of hidden elements throughout the piece that could take collectors years to discover. In total, 36 hidden artifacts and messages are strategically hidden within the Victory or Death visual allowing the pieces meaning to be uncovered over time.

The 360 collectors that will own a canvas in this exclusive collection possess a symbolic piece of revisionist history from the mind of The RZA that will never be duplicated.
