The song stars Tage Future, who takes a solo opportunity over a whipping, winding beat from RJD2, using the track to show off a series of complex flows and slick lines. The video, directed by Dan Gotti and premiered today by Potholes In My Blog, is a well-done series of fast-edit performance clips, each cut keeping up with the frantic pace of RJ’s instrumental and Tage’s verses.

Moving images for the RJD2 produced banger, off MHz Legacy’s self titled album. Peace to PotHolesInMyBlog on the premiere.

Icebird (RJD2 x Aaron Livingston) – Charmed Life

Second single off RJD2 and Aaron Livingston’s upcoming album, The Abandoned Lullaby, dropping October 11th.

“For me, ‘Charmed Life’ is about struggling to maintain sanity when it seems like the world around you is falling apart.” explains Aaron Livingston, who notes that the song was inspired by a drunken argument with his girlfriend. And while that explanation alone may prove the song title difficult to decipher, Livingston adds, “I’ve been through some difficult things, like anyone, but I’ve also been lucky to do some extraordinary things with extraordinary people, and be involved in some really cool stuff. I really do believe I live a charmed life, though I sometimes forget.”

Icebird (RJD2 x Aaron Livingston) – Going And Going. And Going (Video)

Lead single off the Philly duo’s upcoming album, The Abandoned Lullaby, droppings October 11th through RJ’s Electrical Connections.

In shooting the video, which premiered yesterday on VEVO, Icebird set out to present themselves with some exciting new challenges. “We wanted to do a live performance-oriented video, which is new for both of us,” comments rjd2, noting that the gold confetti-strewn performance shots only begin to tell the story; the clips are interspersed with shots of rj and Aaron cruising in a convertible, before ending up waist-deep in a creek, a mermaid and skeleton romance unfolding underwater at their feet. But as entertaining as the video is, it wasn’t a cakewalk for the duo. “The creek was pretty cold,” remarks rjd2. “And the gold confetti – it’s actually really uncomfortable being covered in that stuff, like you’re being poked by a cactus.”

RJD2 The Insane Warrior – The Water Wheel (Video)

RJ invokes his alter ego in The Insane Warrior’s We Are the Doorways, which is being described as a “John Carpenter / Brian Eno-influenced soundtrack to a sci-fi horror film that doesn’t yet exist”. Dope.

RJD2 – The Glow Remixes (FreEP)

To help jumpstart the new year, RJD2 put together a .zip that includes three new remixes of The Glow; the lead single to his latest album, The Colossus.

The first track comes from the Chicago heavyweight DJ Duo Flosstradamus. They give the original a dancefloor-friendly makeover. Next up is the Paolo Palazzo remix. Paolo was the winner of The Glow remix contest – the public overwhelmingly voted for his futuristic flip with the super insane bass line! Lastly is a remix by a young buck, Candy Panther. This kid’s demo was slick enough to land him a spot on the single, with a smooth, laid back mid-tempo club remix. All in all, many bases get covered here, so check ‘em out. Enjoy!
