Celph Titled & Buckwild’s Nineteen Ninety Now is available now, and here is the latest set of visuals from it.
This beat goes. The Jedi Mind Tricks/Army of the Pharaohs member’s solo project, Season of the Assassin, is out now.
Around the beginning of the new millennium my musical playlist consisted of about 75% indie hip hop. Any and everything Rhymesayers / Definitive Jux / QN5 / Demigodz / Stones Throw / Weathermen / Psycho+Logical related dropped, I copped. Simple as that. Everyone from Sage Francis to Aesop Rock, Atmosphere to Cunninlynguists, Dilated Peoples, Cage, Copywrite, Louis Logic, Apathy, Celph Titled, Eyedea & Abilities, Mr. Lif, Brother Ali, DOOM… you get the point. And while the percentage might have changed a bit throughout the past few years (be it running 2dbz, indie artists releasing less material, the need for some random ignorance in my life, etc), I will always hold those years close to my heart. And with that sappy story said, I’ve put together a compilation of some of the songs that frequented my CD player. I’m sure this won’t be the last.

Official video for the new single off the Wu-Tang affiliate’s Sophomore album, Heaven Razah, which is available now. SHAKE UPDATE: Brought this back to the top as I added the R.A. the Rugged Man assisted joint off the album.
Initially slated for a spring release, the album was postponed indefinitely when Razah was admitted to the hospital last April with a health emergency. Having since learned how to walk, talk, and eat again, Razah and label Nature Sounds finally feel comfortable releasing the new album, and in a show of solidarity between artist and label, Nature Sounds has announced they will be donating all proceeds from the project to Razah’s family as the respected wordsmith continues to recover.

The Rugged Man and his mother discuss his father, Staff Sgt. John A. Thorburn, and the impacts of Agent Orange on their family. Spotted at NR.
Originally released in 2006 on Jedi Mind Trick’s Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell album. R.A’s verse on Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story is not only one of my favorites from the past 5 years but it also details the real life experience of his father, Staff Sgt. John A. Thorburn. And now that it’s also featured on the Rugged Man’s Legendary Classics v.1, we finally get some visuals.

splash!-Mag meets R.A. The Rugged Man in an infamous spot in Berlin, the “Ostel”. Sitting in front of an enormous portrait of villain and former GDR head of state Erich Honecker, R.A. answers questions about his childhood days on a German farm, an upcoming project with Prince Paul and another MC with “knock out qualities”, new rap talents from Long Island, his popular entertaining abilites and a film project about his fathers life, who sadly passed away recently.
Those familiar with R.A. will already know about his verse on Jedi Mind Trick’s Uncommon Valor, in which he tells his pops’ story. I’ve included it below for those that aren’t.

Here’s yet another adventure in the ridiculous world of R.A. the Rugged Man. This time we find R.A. accompanied by underground hip-hop legends Hell Razah, Jojo Pellegrino, Remedy & Blaq Poet as they rob homes, seduce women and brandish unusually large weapons. All in the name of hip-hop. Another classic video from R.A. the Rugged Man off Legendary Classics Vol. 1 in stores now! No little children or underage white girls were hurt in the making of this video.

As most people know by now, R.A. the Rugged Man is a huge boxing fan. R.A. decided to edit a bunch of boxing images together over a recent boxing freestyle he did. A must see for any fan of boxing or fan of just good hip-hop. Don’t forget Legendary Classics is in stores right now!!

Boxing enthusiasts and MC’s Irish rapper Rob Kelly and R.A The Rugged Man recently were asked by On The Grind Boxing to Interview the legendary Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins, the ever controversial and outspoken figure, was asked if he thought his “never lose to a whiteboy” comments effected the outcome of his disputed loss to Joe Calzaghe in the judges’ eyes.
