A (2)Dope Podcast (9.07.12)

I’ll be honest: I’ve been trying to do one podcast a month, but let’s face facts: when I’m not essentially working all day and doing gigs all night I’m usually sleeping my ass off, trying to remember how to play Madden all over again after taking a year off (I never even opened last year’s copy) or sleeping my ass off some more. Ironically, I had done a podcast with the Lessondary crew last month (which included talks about tour life, old strippers and substituting alcohol for water when brushing your teeth), only for the damn thing to not even record.

So for the last few days I’d been toying with the idea of doing a (2)Dope Podcast in my head, until I eventually got off my ass and did one. Even better, the homie DJ Lissa Monet was generous enough to master the mix and add a few extra sound effects as well (this may be the start of repairing relations with Canada, America, so take notice). If you’ve been on my melanin-less partner’s timeline you’d have notice that he’s been on a decidedly anti-rap kick this week; coincidentally I have been too, and this podcast reflects that. A (2)Dope Podcast (7.04.12)

In the last couple weeks I’ve done gigs with and/or spun for the likes of Joey Bada$$, Ab-Soul, Chief Keef, ScHoolboy Q, Danny Brown, Childish Gambino and Pete Rock, and was all set to spend my 4th Of July with friends, getting some new ink and generally kicking back and trying to enjoy this unreasonably hot summer in New York City.

Instead, I ended up with a fever/sore throat/head cold, royally fucking up my day and leaving me stuck indoors looking thorough my window while the world passed by.

Out of sheer boredom and restlessness I decided to do another (2)Dope Podcast. Enjoy. Tracklist and link down bottom.

A (2)Dope Podcast (5.12.12)

I’ll be honest: I haven’t been able to do a (2)Dope Radio show in a minute partly because I hardly have the time to do the travel to and fro the radio station in Brooklyn and my current dwellings in Harlem, and partly because I’m too lazy to do said travel. While I hope that changes this summer (I’m moving to Brooklyn within the next two weeks) it probably won’t because, well, I’m lazy as fuck. So instead I may try to drop these “bedroom sessions” at least once a month to appease those that ask about the show, until I get off my ass and actually do a show.

Steve-Ography & GFCNY Present: We Are Alive (Podcast)

Man, I haven’t heard track 16 in years, and when I heard it Jamie was performing it at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

Art & Music, are evidence of life. And my life revolves around art & music. It is a cycle, that allows me to wake up everyday. “We Are Alive!” will be a monthly podcast series that I share with you. You’ll get a glimpse and listen to the art & music that inspires me to live and progress, in hopes that we can all inspire each other to do the same, as art & music should.

A Pair Of Podcasts…

… both of which are wholly entertaining. Check out Cam’ron and Vado wax poetics during an episode of Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds’ Juan Epstein Radio (note: Cam talks about his infamous The O’Reilly Factor appearance), then listen to the podcast from Jensen Karp and ItsTheReal curators the Rosenthals with hip-hop’s go-to photographer Jonathan Mannion (even if you don’t know who he is, I’m pretty sure you have one of his works in your music collection) to talk about everything from shooting Biggie to DMX and in-between.
