If you haven’t heard any of Gummy Soul’s amazing projects yet, I’d suggest you head over to his Bandcamp and do some exploring.

My pappy never taught me how to knock a brother out.
This is apparently Russell Jones’ last-ever recorded verse. Damn. I still can’t believe it’s going on six years since he passed.

While not a rarity, this little gem right here defines the true essence of that classic 90s sound, and more specifically, the distinct D.I.T.C. sound. Lord Finesse’s S.K.I.T.S. (Shorties Kaught Up In The System) was the B-side to J.R. Swinga’s Chocolate City on Mad Sounds Recordings. The two above tracks were also featured on the 1994 compilation, State of Emergency: Society In Crisis Vol. 1. J.R. Swinga (now known as J.R. Hutson) studied under the infamous Teddy Riley, which led to work with 90′s R&B heavy hitters Zhane and Boyz II Men. Fast forward, freeze frame on today, he’s best known for producing Musiq’s Sobeautiful and three tracks on Jill Scott’s The Real Thing: Words And Sounds Vol. 3 including, Crown Royal. As a bonus, I’ve included Pharcyde’s My Soul which was featured on the State of Emergency: Society In Crisis Vol. 1 compilation.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Pharcyde reunite in Los Angeles for the Rock The Bells festival last year. Definitely a top-10 hip hop memory for me. Anyways, BMUSE got some footage of them as well as The Hiero’s Opio performing at the Fillmore up in NoCal. Check more out under the cut.

The Khalifa Man is the latest artist to rip through a freestyle for DJBooth.net. Going in over the classic Pharcyde cut. Flight School dropping later this month!

Michelle just shot over another single off Delicious Vinyl’s RMXXOLOGY, in stores now, this time flipping another vintage Pharcyde sample. And above is a trailer for the entire project as well.

A while ago, Shake dropped the Eminem-reworked version of Masta Ace’s Slaughtahouse off of Delicious Vinyl’s RMXXOLOGY., in stores now. I just got this Philippians Remix of the classic Pharcyde song, and I must say I dig that they didn’t totally switch up the song as they did re-flip the classic bossa nova sample. And oh yeah, I already covered it in the Soul Show. RMXXOLOGY, out now. UPDATE: Added the audio, don’t say Shake never gives you anything.
