We briefly mentioned this one back in July. Now, they’re finally available for order over at Sure Shot’s online store, pressed up on marbled gray vinyl (100 copies only), so for you collectors / diggers, get to clicking! For the digital / mp3 heads, you can download that down bottom.
Paul Nice & Slice-of-Spice’s latest release is finally here and can now be ordered via Slice-of-Spice now. This track was originally released in 2000 with a remix that never saw the light of day until now. The cover art was created by legendary graffiti artist EWOKONE (check for the trailer after the jump) and is pressed on red 7″ vinyl (via link above). Regular black vinyl can be copped at the usual suspects including HHV. Limited copies available so get up on it!
Slice-of-Spice is back at homeplate ready to swing another homer out the park. This time, Paul Nice recruited the Diabolical Biz Markie for a funky cut. Weʻll let them explain. Peace to Richard:
Slice-of-Spice and Paul Nice are proud to present hip hop legend Biz Markie on limited edition vinyl!
This record marks the third and final release in the Signature-7-Series, on Slice-of-Spice Records with Paul Nice, focusing on previously unreleased production from his deep archives. Having already released ‘BK (We Don’t Play)’ with Masta Ace to critical acclaim, and with ‘Conflict’ featuring Ace & Guru (R.I.P.) dropping this week, they’ve saved the best for last.
Back in 2001 Paul Nice produced and recorded ‘Turn Tha Party Out’ with Biz Markie, which was released in Germany. A dope remix was produced for the project, but it was never released in any format, until now! Slice-of-Spice is pressing this one up with another cover art master class from the legendary Joe Buck (De La Soul, J-Dilla) and the special edition version comes on hot pink vinyl. DON’T SLEEP!
Slice-of-Spice Records has been busy as of late, prepping and releasing a grip of exclusive gems from underrated producer Paul Nice. For their latest release, they’ve dusted off a previously unreleased Masta Ace joint produced by Paul sometime in 2001. You may recall the familiar sample as heard on Premo’s remix to Kanye’s Classic; well Paul actually flipped it first. After finding the original DATs and remastering them, the song is finally ready to see the light of day. The b-side features a Paul Nice remix to showcase that he ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. This is pressed on a 7″ record, with an all black vinyl version sold at the usual suspects (HHV, UGHH, Fat Beats & Dusty Groove), while the limited blue version can only be ordered directly from Slice-of-Spice. Peace to Richard for letting us premier this exclusively. If you like what you hear, support and cop via the links below.
After their successful Paul Nice x Masta Ace x Guru project, Slice-of-Spice is back to assist Paul with another remix joint. Please note, Slice-of-Spice is executive producing and managing this project this time around, the vinyl is being put out by Paul’s Sure Shot! Records.
Public Service Announcement (Take 3), is an unreleased Jay-Z remix from 2004, by Paul Nice.
The tune came about during the making of Paul Nice vs. Jay-Z: “The Unofficial Black Album Remix. Here are some details from the man himself:
“I had done several versions of nearly every song and as a result, there were about a dozen extra remixes that never made it to the public. This is the third remix I did for PSA (hence the sub-title “Take 3″), the first two making the finished album. After a few years, I went back and listened to “Take 3″ and immediately realized that this was not only the best of the PSA remixes, but probably the best of anything else I did on that project as well.”
Paul selected this track to be the first on his new label Sure Shot! and a part of the Sure Shot! Secret Series, which will see the release of some exclusive and unheard tracks, on limited edition vinyl.
There are only 100 copies of the Special Edition Marbled Grey vinyl up for grabs, which can only be purchased directly from the Sure Shot! pop-up-store. DON’T SLEEP!
Legendary graffiti artist Ewok puts together a mural framed with the same artwork featured on the Conflict release. 7″ vinyl pre-orders now available via Fat Beats. Peace to Slice-of-Spice Records.
Up until now, the Paul Nice remix of this song was only available on a few (unofficial) compilations (to my knowledge). Well, Slice-of-Spice Records is set to release this funky burner officially on wax with the instrumental on the flip. For more info, pre-orders, etc., hit this link. Shout out to Slice-of-Spice and DWG. Rest In Power Guru!
