Not really a video but whatever. The audio of Nas latest interview with the Nutz in the Morning. Esco speaks on his album title (go figure), the ‘n’ word (really!?), if hip hop is still dead (never was) and why America isn’t ready for Obama. Spotted over at RTNY.
Here’s some footage of Nas performing a few tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live woodini69 (best. internets name. ever) managed to catch while in attendance. “Hero” is above, “Sly Fox” is under the cut.
My man Jonathan Hay hit me with this nice little exclusive and asked if I cared to premier it. The answer is obvious, I respect Killer Mike to the fullest so this was a no brainer. Instead of breaking down what was said, check the video above and li-li-listen. And while we’re talking about Killer Mike. Cop his album! I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II in stores now! Also, if you haven’t already, check the Pressure video he did with Ice Cube.
As if the countless Nas posts weren’t enough promo. Let’s give it some more. Nas’ extremely dope Untitled hits stores next Tuesday and everyone should cop it. Here’s an insert from the linear notes:
“Nigger” or “Nigga”, not even the lesser evil “negro”, could ever be our title. We are way more complicated, beautiful and intelligent than any word created for us. Africa isn’t even a name we chose for the continent. But hey… it is what it is. Some things just stick and are hard to change. What would be a proper name for us? Think about it. We should decide on it. I don’t think it matters much but, with that being said, racial bias will probably never die. You would think in this day and in these times, with all that’s going on all over the planet, we should be past this. I want to be past this but it seems like some things don’t go away. Instead they get more dangerous and worse. Nigger is a word that comes from the African-American slave trade. That slave trade is a massive part of American history but people want to sweep it under the rug like it never existed……….
BOBO are on fire today! Here goes the NoDJ version of Fried Chicken. I saw someone request it in the comments so this must make their day haha. Untitled drops July 15th. I posted the tracklist a few hours ago. Yessir! UPDATE: Switched the clean version with the explicit, courtesy of OKP.
The official single to Nas upcoming album, Nigger. Shouts to the Best of Both Offices! And it looks like the album is now dropping on July 15th? I must say I’m not hyped for it. Then again, I never really am for a Nas project. Sheesh.
Nasir and DJ Clue wrap up their interview on Power105. Talks on the album, Success with Hov. Nas states how he’s open for Hov and AZ to get on the record. How ill would that be for all three of them to rip? They also speak on who Nas thinks is hot, etc.
Part 2 of Nas’ discussion with Green Lantern. Gee I wonder what they spoke about? Shouts to Sav as usual. Also, despite Nas changing his album title, he is still putting out The Nigger Tape with GL. No release date and honestly who knows if it will even drop. Remember Corporate Takeover with Jay/GL? Yea, exactly.
So it looks like Esco went back on his word (again) and will no longer be going with the title Nigger for his upcoming LP. Gee, like we all didn’t see that coming. I know I thought it, I know eskay thought it. What about all this “I’m gonna fight it. I’m at a big enough status that I can drop this. Who cares if some stores ban it.” talk?
According to EW.com, a Def Jam representative has confirmed that Nas will no longer be naming his upcoming project Nigger. Instead, Nasir Jones will opt for a less controversial title: Nas. – HipHopDX
Both Nas (Nas) and G-Unit (Terminate on Sight) are dropping July 1st. Who are you copping?
This is possibly the last interview series I post from Nas until we get another damn single, video or something! Again shouts to Steve-O and Young Sav at the Best of Both Offices for this. Nas speaks on his upcoming album, politics and Illmatic.
Nas speaks on his upcoming album to DJ Clue on Power105. Shouts to Young Sav and Steve-O, the Best of Both Offices for this. Stay tuned for pt.2. Check after the jump for Peter Rosenberg’s latest Flip Cam Diary with Nasir and Q-Tip.
Hot97′s Peter Rosenberg and Staten Island emcee NYOIL discuss Nas and his new single Be a Nigger Too. Also, I forgot to post yesterday, but check after the jump for NYOIL’s remarks about the similarities between Nas’ single and his track from last year, What Up My Wigger Wigga. He also goes on about Nas’ character, etc. A short sample is below, but be sure to check out Robbie’s spot (Unkut) for the entire thing…
