Just as the title suggests, the hardest working man in the underground game (alongside Ab-Soul, tabi Bonney, Whole Wheat Bread and DJ Foundation) are hitting the road in support of the upcoming Paid Dues Festival in Southern California on April 2nd. The 35-city tour will span most of the United States and Canada.

Yesterday evening I was pleasantly surprised with the first leak off Murs’ follow up to his 2002 release, the Varsity Blues EP. A project that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since the day I first got it some 7-8 years ago. After spinning the new Aesop Rock produced record a few times, I decided to put on the original and vibe out.

Murs and Terrace have teamed up to create Melrose, which drops February 8th. While it’s not the same as it used to be (thank the struggling economy and the constant changes on that block), anybody who resides in Southern California can attest that in its prime Melrose was one of the most cracking streets to be on.
The two have already worked together on the remix to Kendrick Lamar’s “She Needs Me,” also featuriung Dom Kennedy. I’m interested to see what is the end result this time.
Speaking of Black Hippy, Schoolboy Q’s Setbacks drops January 11th.

Murs and 9th’s remake of Common’s classic is found off their collaborative album this year, Fornever, which is available now. While you’re at it, cop 9th and David Banner’s Death Of A Pop Star, which is also available now. Both are dope as shit, and one is going to end up on my year-end list.
