For the latest installment of RubyHornet’s Closed Sessions, Emilio Rojas links up with Scheme and Astonish of the Molemen crew. And as a bonus… check the above clip as Emilio breaks down hip hop for the third installment of Court Dunn & ThisIsCurtis This Is Hip Hop series.
“Closed Sessions was that shit! I got to meet and build with some really great talent and eat some good ass nachos (haha). The record turned out crazy and Chicago is a great place to be. Ruby Hornet is putting together great collaborations, bringing artists together in person the way it should be done – none of that email back and forth shit.” – Emilio Rojas
Title track off the Molemen’s upcoming project dropping in February (for free download) and again in March (w/ all the original material + bonus joints) on iTunes, etc. Hit the jump for the tracklist.
For the “Respect the Art” video we brought it back home to Chicago. Scheme’s first video “Chicano” represented his home away from home, this one here represents where he was born and raised. Mostly shot in the neighborhood Scheme grew up in, the video is filled with nostalgic images, familiar faces, and iconic Chicago sites. Scheme’s purpose for both song and video was to express that “no matter how you choose to portray your craft, all I ask is that you respect the art.”
Back in July Scheme released the a capellas and instrumentals of the EP. Fellow Chicago artist Rashid Hadee took the time to remix the project, which you can grab after the jump.
Mikkey Halsted joins Scheme on the latest leak from his upcoming project, Same Rebel New Cause, which is presented by your favorite dopeboyz on the internet and RubyHornet. Check the above clip for some behind-the-scenes action on how the record came to be, as well as each artists’ take on the music and each other.
Continuing with the dopehouse presented projects (this time alongside RubyHornet). Here’s a new leak off Scheme’s upcoming Same Rebel, New Cause project. Featuring the likes of Emilio Rojas, Mikkey Halsted, Astonish and more. Look for the mixtape to drop in January, with an album version (with all original music) dropping in February.
Fresh leak off Scheme’s upcoming project Same Rebel, New Cause. Presented by the dopehouse & RubyHornet, with features from Mikkey Halsted, Emilio Rojas (grab The Natural now), Astonish and more. Expect two versions. A mixtape version and an album version with all original production.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been waiting waiting and waiting for Vakill’s new shit to finally drop. There’s still no release date as far as I know, but we’ve got a tracklist! Hit the jump…
A few weeks back I posted the latest effort from Chicago’s Scheme. I really feel it got overlooked, but that won’t stop the grind. While we wait for his next project (with RubyHornet & 2DopeBoyz) he wanted to let loose of the instrumentals and a capellas of the EP. Just a little something for ya’ll to dabble with. Whether you remix the vocals, rhyme over the beats, etc. Do what you do. The Manifesto EP is also available on iTunes, Amazon, Lala and many other onlines stores. So if you’re feeling what you hear, support!
I’ve dropped a few dope cuts off this over the past few weeks, and now it’s time to drop the entire EP on ya’ll. Yes, Scheme is putting it out there for free. But it’s also available on iTunes, Amazon, UGHH, etc. So to those that enjoy what you hear, show some support and purchase a copy.
