Just got this album in my inbox yesterday. I’ve never heard of Astonish before, but after giving it a couple of spins, I can say I’m definitely digging it, minus the singing. The young Chicago native’s album features production by Oddisee, Jay Vega, Panik (of Molemen) and more. Download, peep and judge for yourself. Peace to Chris Moss at Al Lindstrom.
In the first half of the clip above, Astonish and Scheme pay tribute to the DITC classic. Then at the 2:48 mark, Astonish goes solo on the latest video from The AstonishinglyODD Project, dropping December 13th. And last but not least, Scheme also dropped his Life That I Chose EP today on iTunes.
While I’m sitting here patiently waiting for Vakill to drop The Armor Of God; I’ve been playing his previous releases on a constant basis. If you aren’t familiar with the Chicago emcee, here are two joints off 2003′s The Darkest Cloud and 2006′s Worst Fears Confirmed.
With YNot celebrating the site’s one-year anniversary, he’s dropping a mixtape in the future with nothing but Chicago artists, being that it is his hometown.
Last link off Scheme’s upcoming project Same Rebel, New Cause, dropping February 24th.
