Peter Bjorn & John – Nothing To Worry About (Kickdrums Remix) f. Rhymefest, Wale & Young Chris

Some might not be familiar with the name, but I guarantee more than half of ya’ll have whistled their hit single atleast once since it was released. Either way… you’re about to hear the name a bit more at the dopehouse as Mick Boogie is working on a remix project that should be nothing short of dope.

The project is entitled Re-Living Thing, basically meaning a remix of their album Living Thing. The entire project is dropping around August 1st, but I wanted to officially leak the “first single” tonight. A remix of the debut single seemed appropriate enough… so here it is… with a group of emcees I call the “Allido All-Stars” lol… Wale, Young Chris, and Rhymefest. If you ask me, these guys would make an amazing group together… what do you think, Mark and Rich?

A (2)Dope Mixtape Post (Michael Jackson Tribute Edition)

I’ve finally arrived at my place of residence for the weekend after a 2 hour drive and now I’m sitting at a desk with internet speeds that resemble the running aol man.; but I’ve got some things to share so let’s go. The mixtape tributes didn’t take long after Michael Jacksons untimely passing. Here are four; from the likes of J. Period, DJ Slimm, Mick Boogie & Cookin’ Soul. Choose at will after the jump…

ThePressPlayShow.Com & Mick Boogie Present Hammertime: Past, Present & Future (Mixtape)

hammertop

If you didn’t know, my first introduction to hip hop came courtesy of MC Hammer’s Please, Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em, so this particular mixtape instantly caught my eye. Classic songs, interludes, original samples and some new 2009 remakes of Hammer’s biggest hits featuring the likes of Mistah Fab, Izza Kizza, 6th Sense and Chip Tha Ripper, spitting alongside re-done verses by Hammer himself. Tracklist and link under the cut.

Harlem’s Cash – On My Way To Harlemwood 1.5 (Mixtape) [NoDrops]

I’ve always thought of this being a fantastic idea. You drop a tape with a DJ of your choice. You got your product out there, fans are listening. Then wait a few weeks (a month works too) and drop it without the DJ. It pleases the fans, it keeps your product fresh and your name is bubbling still. I know I enjoy my DJ free version of Bar Exam 2 haha. Anyways… Harlem’s Cash took that route and is now releasing a drop-free version of the Government remixed On My Way to Harlemwood 1.5. Presented by illRoots; featuring The Kid Daytona, Mickey Factz, 6th Sense, XV, Donny Goines, Shawn Chrystopher and more.
