ArtByShake. Click to enlarge.

As a prelude to her debut solo album Late Nights & Early Morning (which is due out later this year), Marsha let loose of this mixtape EP. And since Shake is for the people, I went ahead and put together some artwork and labeled the files for your iPod/Zune. Enjoy!

Crooked I, Jay Rock, Marsha Ambrosius & Kida – Homage to Dr. Dre (prod. Focus) [CDQ]

I still have no clue who Kida is, but being associated with Focus seems to prove positive as the first track I heard from dude was featuring some heavy hitters. I posted an incomplete radio rip of this a few days ago. Now it’s time for that CD quality! Shouts to Ty Cannon.

Marsha Ambrosius Live @ SOBs (Video)

Courtesy of Wil:

Here’s some footage from Marsha’s performance last month at SOB’s in NYC. She also talks to me about working with Just Blaze and Dr. Dre on her new album – and the differences of going solo vs. her work with Floetry.

Marsha Ambrosius Live at Jazz Cafe (Audio x Video)

Marsha Ambrosius, formerly one half of British soul duo Floetry, came to London for a one-off solo show at UK Soul Jam, Jazz Cafe on July 5th 2009. SoulCulture recorded her performing crowd favorites Say Yes (shown above) from Floetry’s debut album and Take Care (after the jump) from her mixtape, Your Truly….

But back to the concert. Opening with Co-Star, Ambrosius launches into a combination of old and new material, including Say Yes and a thumping new song produced by Dr Dre. Incorporating the lyrics to Thriller as verses in the Floetry classic Getting Late, she eases into a tribute to Michael Jackson with a rendition of Butterflies on the piano, followed by a snippet of Cry – an unfinished song she has written for him
