“…Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” excerpt from “The Road Not Taken” -Robert Frost
I firmly believe that we all walk our own predestined paths thru life and that once in a great while, there are certain divine interventions that alter our paths for better and for worse. Me? I’m no different. I’ve had my luck and I’ve had my struggles too. The road that I’ve traveled on hadn’t always been the easiest and I’ve had to make some hard decisions in the past to keep true to who I am. But life goes on and now? It’s time to let go of the “old Marky” and start fresh with the “new”.

Marky’s Divine Intervention his the e-waves March 14th, but this video featuring the Diamond District member sees the light this Wednesday (March 29th).
I really dig how my team has a broad taste in music. From Reek hippin’ me to Dub-Step, to Ian puttin me on to this M83 guy. The music is brilliant to me and I like to experiment with it from time to time. We’re a few weeks away from Divine Intervention and word is it’ll be dropping early for some ;). Oh, and I’ll have some goods to give out while I’m down at SXSW (dates coming soon). Shhh.. keep that between us tho.
Produced by my brothers, “Twice as Nice” out of Australia – the song came about while in the studio in NYC. These guys were playing me a couple tracks and when this came up, I looked at Nick & Lewis like, “it would be dope if I get Asher on it…” From that point, I told Asher I needed a verse from him. He’s a cool and humble cat so he was already down to do whatever. The song is based about a girl that you talk to whom you only hit up at them “after club hours” to go visit lol. She agree’s but always complain that you don’t ever want to talk – you only want to “hit” and “roll-out”. So, to her – we say, “naw, baby.. naw – it ain’t like that… but I’m on my way you gonna come out?” ;) haha
I figured while recording and prepping “The Markwilder Show”, I’d give you a look inside on what it took to get things moving with this project. A bunch of long nights and dedicated teammates helped bring this project to fruition. Now, here’s part 2 of the way this all was created. Hope you enjoy!
Every once in awhile, God throws things your way to see what you can make of them. This can be relationships with people, opportunities, gifts, life, & etc. Last year while working on my debut album, I walked into Fight Klub Studios and was introduced to Rockwilder by himself. Upon shaking my hand and saying, “What up Marky, I’m Rockwilder. ” I was like, “I know who you are!” I knew I’d only have one shot at being good enough to ask if he’d be willing to lend his talents to a mixtape idea that I had in mind. After working countless hrs on my album and a few other records, I turned down the music and asked him humbly was it all possible to do a mixtape with him. He simply said very calmly, “Lets do it.” I was like, “Cool,” and turned the music back up!
