Maestro meets the Surf Club, part deux.
Admission time: I’ve known Maestro since 2006, back when he was an intern at the entertainment production company I used to work at. We used to talk sparingly about sneakers, music and our side hustles (me wanting to pursue music journalism, him wanting to direct), but it seemed that the future would have something else in mind for the both of us. Anyways, Maestro links up with the Surf Club producer for a “few weeks in the life of” style docu-visual.
No offense, but I kinda chuckled at Dom Kennedy’s over-six-feet-tall self riding that BMX bike. Truly a California staple. Hopefully I’ll see some of that when I make it back there next month.
STILL SLEEPING? YOU LOSE: Dom Kennedy – From the Westside With Love (Mixtape)
It took quite a while and I’m sorry but thanks to the assist of my homie DJ SOURMILK we now have another Maestro Knows mixtape filled with the modern classics from Season 2. I’ve been getting a lot of requests for this tape over the recent months and weeks so make sure and holler at Milk and let him know how you feel so that he’ll be down to make the next one!!! – Maestro

If you listen closely, there is a “never heard” GLC x Bun B track at the beginning, or so he says. Props to Dan.
Featuring music from the likes of Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Erykah Badu, Too $hort, Young Jeezy, KiD CuDi, Nas, Kanye West and more.
Here’s for everyone that rocked out with me to all the music in Season One and asked what the songs were and all of that good stuff. I got all the songs that I edited to and Milk cut em up, so that you can get down! The cover photo came as an unexpected bonus while I was down in Atlanta last week and Zack Wolfe shot me over at his studios, which proved to make the whole project a creative success.

Real talk, when I worked in entertainment production Maestro was an intern at the office I was in, and we almost always talked about sneakers and hip hop the entire time. Makes me wanna jump back into the sneaker scene full-fledged again sometimes.
