Macklemore Enters Key Arena (Video)

With a full video on the way, Macklemore gives us a preview of his entrance to the Key Arena at this year’s Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, Washington. Based off the fan’s reaction, him and Ryan Lewis are definitely on the right path. Hopefully it continues in nothing but a positive light.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Otherside (rmx) f. Fences (Video)

About time!

Nearly a year ago, Otherside, a fan favorite off of the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ VS EP, was remixed and released as part of their VS Redux project. During that span, and spurred on by a powerful fan-base who have long embraced Otherside (the song has over one-million plays one YouTube), Macklemore and Lewis felt compelled to deliver a worthy visual to accompany the already stirring narrative. Along with Macklemore and Lewis, the visual was shot in multiple locations by director and long time collaborator Jason Koenig (My Oh My). The song, remixed and now featuring Christopher Mansfield (Fences) on the chorus, chronicles Macklemore’s personal struggles with drug abuse and its glorification within the hip hop music he loves.

As a companion to the music video, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis released a special live version of the remix on iTunes.

Sapient – Letterhead (rmx) f. Illmaculate & Macklemore

Illmaculate and Macklemore add a verse each to the remix of the Sapient’s 2008 original in support of the Los Angeles based graffiti artist Revok’s recent arrest.

Revok is a master at what he does and is obviously a vet. He has earned his way in the world of graffiti, in the world of art, and in the world of business. His influence is more than just “street art”, and it motivates thousands of up-and-comers wanting to be recognized for their efforts. He has shown that new art initiated projects can be purchased by some of the finest collectors worldwide, this is not a simple minded form of vandalism. I respect Revok on many different levels and as a person incarcerated who will come out with tons of legal fees, I want to offer what I can. – Sapient

The remix is now available on iTunes; with 100% of the profits going towards Revok’s legal defense fund.
