As the days count away before Paid Dues, I’m noticing more and more material from some of the stage acts. Being the indie head that I am, this is all great stuff. Above is the 4th video from The Grouch’s latest album, Show You The World. and features Living Legend (team)members Bicasso & Scarub. Directed by Matt Hobbs. Keeping it LL… check out LegendaryMusic for a sneak peak of a new single off The Grouch & Eligh’s upcoming album, G&E, featuring Gift of Gab & Pigeon John. Be sure to check the site regularly as they will be adding more to the snippet, verse by verse, until the complete song is available to hear on Friday. Right now you get to check GOG doing his thing.
Today, Eligh & Jo Wilkinson (his mother) are dropping a collaboration album like few I’ve seen. But instead of the Cup talking about the project, I’ll let Ms. Wilkinson speak on it…
The album, “On Sacred Ground: Mother and Son” is certain to bring people together through music. It is an album of peace, love, hope, and strength, and tackles the issues of drug addiction, war and hopelessness. Combining my voice in the folk genre, along with a sound only Eligh can bring out of me, and mixing it up together with some of the greatest underground hip hop artists in the country (including The Grouch of The Living Legends, Slug of Atmosphere, and Pigeon John), this album is a totally unique and masterfully created labor of love.
I got an early copy of the album in the mail the other day and only got to give it a half-assed listen. I’m gonna revisit it soon as something like this deserves some attention. With that said I wanted to give ya’ll the track featuring Slug & Pigeon John, entitled Safe. Enjoy and be sure to cop the album now.
What’s up ya’ll. Hope ya’ll had a great Christmas (or whatever you celebrate). I had a good time… good food, fam a lam, etc. Even though those days are behind us now the Living Legends crew wanted to give you a gift…
Thanks for swinging by! We really wanted to show our appreciation for all of our fans (more like family) this holiday season so we put together a little gift for you guys. Click that link up above to download Legendary Music Volume 2, completely FREE of charge!
No, you didn’t read that wrong, it’s FREE! This is our gift to you and we hope you enjoy it. It’s filled with good music, some you may have heard, and some you haven’t. It’s a little taste of what is to come in 2009…get ready because it’s going to be a Prolific year of Legendary releases.
The Grouch is back with the third video off Show You the World. One of my favorite joints on the album. Be on the lookout for his next video for the song Hot Air Balloons, featuring fellow Living Legends, Scarub & Bicasso. Also… The Grouch and Eligh are teaming up for a collaboration album, Say G&E, which shall drop on April 7th. Featuring a nice little line up of guests (Slug, Sage Francis, Gift of Gab, Blu, etc) and production from Amp Live & Flying Lotus. Check the title track below (courtesy of RH). Fans can check The Grouch live this December on the How The Grouch Stole Xmas tour. Hit the jump for the dates.
Murs gets his nerdlinger on with some rhymes about about Comic-Con, videogames and comic books! Be on the lookout for the free album that Murs & 9th Wonder are releasing, tomorrow! Sweet Lord.
What up ya’ll. How is your lazy Sunday going? Anyone else ready for the Lakeshow to stop that Rocket’s winning-streak? Yessir! Anyways, on to the post. It’s been awhile since we’ve done one of these, but I promise we’re back on our grind. Got a special post coming later today. Back in ’04, Living Legends emcee Murs joined forces with then Little Brother producer 9th Wonder to bang out a collaboration album. There was a lot of hype around this project and they didn’t let us down. To add to everyone’s listening pleasure, we have the original samples used by 9th for the LP. (EDIT: Was just hit up and told that Kevin dropped this earlier in the month, so props to him.) Check after the jump for the collection…
What’s crazy is that that is only about half of the releases from the Living Legends (from group to solo projects). On April 8th, the Living Legends crew are dropping two releases. The entire Living Legends crew (Murs, The Grouch, Eligh, etc) are releasing a 7 track EP, The Gathering. Each track has all 8 members getting down. Also, The Grouch is releasing his first solo project in close to 5 years, Show You the World. Be on the lookout for a full-length LP from the Living Legends later this year.
MURS (of the Living Legends + FELT) just hit me with this new video. MURS PRESIDENT 2008 is coming! And while we wait for the album, Murs is dropping Murs and the Misadventures of the Nova Express tomorrow (Tues. 27). Here are two tracks off the album, the first being produced by my good friend Embassy the Hitmaker (who just so happens to be Murs cousin) Congrats dude.
