Meka posted some footage of Asher Roth, Beanie Sigel, Mos Def & Mistah F.A.B. going in over Don Cannon’s classic instrumental at a Magic afterparty (that I missed). I noticed in the comments a lot of heads didn’t know that F.A.B. could get down like that. I guess Daniel noticed that too as he has uploaded his full freestyle (until the tape runs out). Enjoy.
This Flip Mino has definitely come in handy. Sean Price randomly got on stage at the Magic Convention in Vegas this week and dropped a few bars a capella style. The crowd was full of crazy hipsters that are too cool for anything, etc and basically sucked in general (stupid!). So he kept it short and bounced. You know Shake was hyped though haha.
Fresh out the studio dropping his verse for the Crooked I x SeDrew collab that will be on the upcoming (2)Dope Mixtape, SeDrew fires off some lines over some classic DJ Premier instrumentals. You gotta love it. Off his upcoming mixtape, Rebellion.
The lovely Carey Sisters had the opportunity to talk with Beanie Sigel & Freeway. I see they are doing big things. They also manage to get a few bars out of the Broad Street Bully and Philly Freezer.
Let’s keep it Vegas for a second shall we. I got yet another great track from Ne-Yo in my inbox that I had to share with ya’ll. And staying on the R&B tip I’ll included two new Usher joints as well as a new one from Donnel Jones. All came from random sources, but I’m pretty sure they originated on UrbanMusic.
If you’re looking at the title of this joint like wtf!? You’re in the same boat as me. I don’t even know what my man SeDrew was on when he came up with it. Either way, Drew gets his 16 on. I also included a track from another emcee, Trayo. Off his new mixtape, Lyrically Handsome, which I’ll be dropping soon enough.
I’ve been in an R&B mood lately so I figured I’d post this joint. Plus, I fuck with Ne-Yo [II] and well, I represent Vegas (for now). Shouts to Sav for sending this through. The second single off his upcoming album, Year of the Gentleman.
Curtis & Co. celebrate 50′s birthday in Las Vegas Jr. Apparently the trio performed for 2hr45min. Damn, that’s one long set. There are very few acts I could watch for that long. VERY few. MissInfo, DJ Envy, Freeway, etc make appearances. And since we’re on the G-Unit side of things, I came across a Yayo-less version of T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight). How cool is that? I remember, someone did the same thing to Baby on the album with Lil Wayne. Want it? Click click click.
When my man and Vegas rep SeDrew Price told me he was dropping his new mixtape today I was a bit indifferent because I know all the internet cares about right now is the Nas leak haha. But then again 7/02 is Las Vegas area code so it works quite well. Whatever the case, nothing should stop you from copping this tape as well. SP puts in work and this tape shows it. Mixed by DJ Slimm (who will be doing the 2dopeboyz West Coast mixtape) and artwork by Shake (me). You gotta love it. After this, theres another mixptape (with all original production) dropping in August and his debut LP dropping at the end of the year.
I know I know! I made a public announcement of my disgust for this record, etc. BUT I royally fucked up something and it’s only right I fix it right? I originally posted these in the last What’s in the Tapedeck. Between reading emails wrong, getting different files, etc I ended up putting these songs up separately. When in reality AllHipHop asked Drew to get down alongside Curren$y & JD Era, which is of course a great look for an up and coming emcee. I remember someone yesterday getting at me saying I don’t admit my mistakes (which is bullshit). Here it is, Shake is human. And when listening to this version you’ll hear a snippet of SeDrew’s Hercules which I included as well. I’m telling you, Drew is not to be slept on. He got praise from both Blu & Joe Budden at the show. Yessir!
My people over at EZIE Entertainment put together a pretty interesting show to just off the Summer. I spoke on it a little bit before but since it’s tomorrow night, I might as well go all out. Joe Budden & Blu are gonna be performing here in Vegas at the Beauty Bar tomorrow (flyer after the jump). Not to mention SeDrew Price will be on stage too! I never would’ve thought to put these two together but hey, they’re both dope as hell so why not? Yesterday my dude Zack shot me this interview Budden did with the Carey Sisters but I was too tired to post. He also drops a little a capella freestyle which I cut out for ya’ll.
I’ve been a fan of Mighty Mi for a long time. Shit, High & Mighty’s B-Boy Document ’99 with Skillz and Mos Def is one of my favorite jams of all time. So when I was hit with this little project I had to check it out. Go figure dude is a resident DJ at a club here in a Vegas and I had no idea! Compiling and mixing the remixes and mashups that he’s grabbed from blogs all over the intenets. From Ghostface Killah and 50 Cent to Portishead/Biggie mashups. Ch-ch-check it out.
