Now this is an absolute gem! Before Doggystyle hit the shelves in 1993, a different version of the West Coast worldwide classic “Ain’t No Fun” was available on the streets. Now thanks to DâM-FunK — who ripped a cassette he purchased at the Slauson Swap Meet in Los Angeles two decades ago — we get to hear the OG version, before Dr. Dre added his flavor.
I was listening to some vintage Kurupt lyrics last week; ol boy is simply vicious on the mic. Sheesh. Anyways, Young Gotti dropped a mixtape earlier this month; click below to grab it.
After being thoroughly disappointed by the last two leaks (“Weird Party” and “Pussy Whistle“), I was debating even hitting play on this one. But given that I was such a huge Kurupt fan back in the day, I still feel obligated to give it a chance. Join me in hoping for the best and hit the jump to stream/download.
Sitting down with my old stomping grounds, Kurupt reveals that Tha Dogg Pound and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have squashed all of their past issues and will be working on a collaborative album, appropriately titled Thug Pound.
Right now we’re fixing to be working on a Thug Pound album with all of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and all of Dogg Pound. Snoop [Dogg], Daz [Dillinger], myself, Soopafly, Krayzie [Bone], Wish [Bone], Bizzy [Bone], [Flesh-N-Bone], Layzie [Bone], the whole ball of wax. These are new works.
What are y’all thoughts on this? Do you still think all parties involved have what it takes to make something great? Or is this another collaboration too late to worry about?
For the latest video off his upcoming Money, Bitches & Power mixtape (May 1), Kurupt puts his own spin Nyotaimori by replacing sushi with cocaine. Yeah… you read that right.
On the latest episode of Snoop DoggLion’s GGN, fellow DPGC kinfolk Kurupt speaks on how he and Calvin connected, being a parent, his movie career (ROFFLE) and more. “New York, New York” still crushes “LA, LA” to this day.
German artist der-unbesiegte (a gold star for any non-German person that can pronounce that word properly on their first try) gets a DPGC co-sign on this latest cut, while he is currently working on a new project slated to drop later this year.
