The CunninLynguists producer makes fun of Kanye’s “Amazing” for the NBA. Who’s already tired of that damn song now that it’s splayed all over the playoffs?
Über-[||] at that still shot.
UPDATE: Do people not know that Kno is White himself? Good fucking lord, everybody wants to play a victim. Get over yourselves quickfast. SHAKE’S APPARITION UPDATE: Credit to the “good folks at QN5“.
When I got my copy of CunninLynguists’ Strange Journey Volume One (pre-order ftw!) I was pleasantly surprised to see a Tone & Kno collaboration. Even though this isn’t connected to their upcoming Chico & The Man album, it’s definitely a great indication of what greatness we can expect. I held off on posting this out of respect for one of the dopest hip hop groups doing it. I’m glad QN5 released it though. Joints like this need to be heard.
Based off what I’ve heard, CL is prepping another fantastic album for our ears to check out! I let loose of the Slug assisted joint last week and now we get the remix to Georgia, which featured Killer Mike & Khujo Goodie! I know it’s obvious to some of us, but I have to point out the amazing production from Kno. People sleep on him far too much. He’s easily in my top 5 still doing it today. Strange Journey Volume One drops May 26th*, and I suggest you preorder now at QN5.com. Those in Lexington tonight can check CL performing along side Killer & Khujo at The Dame. If you still wanna hear more, check out QN5 as they put up the full tracklist as well as some snippets.
*Strange Journey Volume One can still be pre-ordered, but sales will end this Friday at the kick-off of the tour so get yours now if you haven’t already! The pre-order edition of SJV1 contains bonus beats, autographs and a free CunninLynguists sticker and will be shipped 03-24. Physical retail release will be May 26th via Bad Taste Records and Red Eye Distribution.
During the Dirty Acres European Tour last February CL chopped it up with ScratchTV about how they met in person, how Kno is an Aries and more. Damn… this footage just hit the net and they did it last year? I can’t say much… people are still waiting for my footage of the Blu x Joe Budden show I went to in ’08 (or was it ’07!?)… Anyways, CunninLynguists new album, Strange Journey, is on it’s way. If you didn’t grab the first leak, do so now!
Ever since I saw this post on QN5 I’ve been amped. Huge fan of CL here. So naturally when Tunji hit me with an email with the song attached I immediantly kicked myself in the face because I couldn’t listen (my fucking laptop won’t allow me to install my audio drivers). I finally got onto another PC and it’s just what I expected. Dope’ness! Kno on the boards and Natti & Deacon trading verses about the joys of tainted chocoolate products. The official first single off their upcoming double release, Strange Journey. For more information on the album, hit up QN5.
Even though this was supposed to drop last week I have gathered my thoughts and have forgiven Tunji for lying to me. Mostly because I knew the music was gonna be well worth the wait. Especially after hearing a few cuts before the release This is dope fucking music people! Featuring production from Kno (of CunninLynguists), Cook Classics, Adam Berg and Decapbeats; and guest spots from Deacon the Villain (of CunninLynguists) and Substantial (QN5!). Add that to the fact that the artwork is fresh as fuck. Shouts to BMAR on that tip. Don’t sleep, it’s INVERSE!
So Maroon 5 is dropping a remix album called Call And Response on December 9th. The CunninLynguists’ KNO produced a track, but thanks to sample clearance fuckery it was left on the cutting room floor… until now. Props to Delay. Also, check out eskay’s spot for another remix.
A lot of you will recognize this joint from our (2)Dope Mixtape: Cadillac Edition, as Tunji was nice enough to give us the exclusive and KNO (of CunninLynguists) stopped writing DOOM long enough to master it. Now we’re dropping the Full/NoDJ version (which we’ll do with the rest of the tape as the days progress). Venturing from his group Inverse to put out some solo work, Tunj does his thing with this! I’m not gonna be posting that much for a bit I don’t think. We’ll see how things go. Have a good day dopeboyz/girlz.
One of the best underground producers in the game (KNO of the CunninLynguists) has a few issues regarding DOOM playing Where’s Waldo during his latest performances so he decided to write an open letter. Check the quote below then check the full thing over at qn5′s website.
The whole thing was shrug-inducing because I’m not a huge fan of your body of work, so pardon my inability to completely connect with the disdain of someone paying $25 dollars to see a slightly rotund, middle aged man in a dirty Gladiator mask stand around onstage and talk into a microphone only to be duped into watching a presumably younger, slightly-less rotund man in a dirty Gladiator mask stand around onstage and pretend to talk into a microphone. As the old folks say, “buyer beware”.
I’ll start this post off with … this is dope! My man KNO (of Cunninlynguists) reworked Cold Play’s hit single as Natti tells a cautionary tale about the decline of the one-trick-pony rapper. Shouts to Tunji for the linkage.
Debut video from Qn5′s CunninLynguists off their 4th album, Dirty Acres. If you say the south is bullshit, you haven’t heard this group. I’ve been a long time fan and have put tons of people on to their music (Meka included haha). Kno on the beat (of course). Directed by Michael Hobbs.
I originally dropped this in our first volume of What’s in the Tapedeck but KNO is just too damn good and deserves his own post for this remix. For the people who don’t know, KNO is part of the underground group Cunninlynguists. I’ll be sure to give you guys the run down in a future post but the pizza is calling … until next post.
