Now that the Canada tour is over and the holidays have passed, Kno and Deacon give an update on the creation of Strange Journey Vol. 3. If you remember from the first meeting, Kno asked the fans to head to their Facebook page and vote on who they’d like to see on the project. Now with the second meeting, he and Deacon announce the closing of the polls and speak on some of the artists that were chosen to be apart of SJV3. Stay tuned as the updates will start to come more frequently as the trio continues to work..

While at the Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta, Kno and Natti reveil that CunninLynguists will be starting work on the third installment of their Strange Journey series. Switching things up, the group will be giving fans the opportunity to A&R the project. That’s right, in the next few weeks be sure to stay tuned to their Facebook page (and the DopeHouse) as they will be asking y’all questions. Who would you like to see featured on a song with CL? Who would you like to guest produce a song? Etc, etc…

In a couple weeks I’m joining CL once again as they head to Europe for a quick tour. To help get an idea of what the fans are thinking, Kno asked their Facebook friends what they liked about the group. Here goes a couple choice selections.

After hitting up CunninLynguists’ producer Kno for an exclusive remix of Maroon 5’s Goodnight Goodnight that eventually ended up being cut from their 2008 remix album Call & Response due to sample clearance issues, Brandon Phelps at Variable Entertainment, this time with up-and-coming Detroit singer/producer JMSN (pronounced Jameson), reaches out to Kno again for an exclusive re-work of JMSN’s single Alone. JMSN’s album †Priscilla† drops 1.11.12.

With their new album finally available for purchase, MarQ Spekt and Kno decided to give y’all a stream for free. A couple notes beforehand:

• MarQ Spekt gets busy on the mic.
• This is the SECOND full-length album in a year produced entirely by Kno this year after CunninLynguists’ Oneirology.

You can hear the dripping of accelerant on the walls, the heat of the rising flames pressing itself against your cheeks. You can also make out the faint sound of the radio, bad drug metaphors and strained colloquialisms about swag wafting into the smoke-heavy air as you struggle to breathe. Suddenly you hear the crash of doors being broken down and your blindfold is removed to reveal a man in a gas mask holding a weathered machete. He motions for you to follow him — you do so, not knowing if this is your savior or Satan.

You regain consciousness as you feel a mixture of blood and sweat dripping into your eyes, burning. You hear whimpering, crying — you wonder “Where’s Emily? Where’s Brad? Have I pissed myself?” Disoriented you hear the untempered whirring of power tools. Power tools? What in the FUCK do they need power tools for? Whatever it is they want, you’ll give it to them and never utter a word of what you’ve seen — because they know exactly where you live.
