The big homie Young Guru sat down with Complex to speak on Jay-Z’s next solo outing..
Jay-Z is always working on stuff, it’s a concept that I can’t talk about but I’m marveled at how smart this guy is. When he told me the concept, I was like ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ It was just so simple. It’s not a concept album though. It’s not like American Gangster, it’s not a Beatles concept album. It has a concept and a title, and the title and the concept fit him so well that people are going to be like ‘Wow.’
I like certain writers because it takes me 8,000 paragraphs to get my full point across. When somebody can take what I just said and condense it into two sentences and still have the same effectiveness, that’s a good writer. The simplicity of the title and the concept that it conveys is incredible.
I can’t tell you the title, it’s so good it’s like, ‘Oh my god why didn’t I think of that? What made you think of that and why haven’t we done that before?’ It’s just staring us in the face.
Guru also shares his thoughts on the possibility of Watch The Throne 2 and what he’d like to see happen. Check what he had to say here.
Mr. West was in the land down under where he once again freestyle ranted over “Say You Will” telling stories of shady women backed by auto-tune vocals. Yes, for seven long minutes. MissInfo.

In the March issue of Vogue, they profile Givenchy’s creative director, Riccardo Tisci. During their convo he discusses his relationship with Kanye West and how it was like working with Jay and Kanye on Watch The Throne.
Tisci’s passion for music has taken him around the world. His strong connection to the worlds of rap and R&B led his friends Kanye West and Jay-Z to enlist his services as art director for their collaborative album, Watch The Throne.
“I was a little bit scared, ” admits Tisci, “Because I’m not an artist or graphic artist.” He finally agreed and was awed when a meeting sequed into a jam session that involved Rihanna, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams, all freely exchanging ideas “like a family giving opinions to each other,” remembers Tisci, “sharing – which is something that fashion is missing,” he adds plaintively.
His artwork for the single “H.A.M.” and the album (which reached number one on iTunes in 24 countries) draw Tisci’s childhood passion for mythology and religious iconography and his current engagement with psychedelic prints and graphics”
G.O.O.D. Music’s own Tony Williams drops off the album version of the Kanye West-featured “Another You” from King or the Fool out on iTunes at midnight.
Adele earns six big ones at last night’s 54th Annual Grammy Awards tying the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night set by Beyoncé in 2010. Check out the Grammys official website for a full list of winners.
I would have preferred a visual of Jay and ‘Ye fucking around in France instead of footage from their Staples Center show, but I’m sure those two could give a rat’s ass about my preferences anyways.
