We’ve been hearing noise of Royce Da 5’9″, Joe Budden, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz being in the studio, and today Shady Records makes it a fact. Releasing a new statement that the new age four horsemen are officially in the lab cooking up their next offering. And as an added bonus, Just Blaze has been called on to Executive Produce.
The Core Four are spending the month of June in a secret location in New York City cooking up something new with a team of producers including the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Araab Muzik and Just Blaze. Just Blaze is set to serve as the album’s Executive Producer.
Each member also offered their own thoughts; which I’ve included below.
While at the GIG-IT launch, the machine revealed to XXL that they have begun working on their third album (the second to be released under the Shady umbrella).
“We’re getting started with the recording process like, yesterday,” Royce Da 5’9″ revealed. “We’re getting on that album. We’ve got some pretty big announcements to be excited about. We’re trying to work that out right now, so that’s pretty much where we are at the present time.”
Crook and Joell also stated that the group has put their solo projects on hold until they complete the SH album.
Yesterday, N.O.R.E. took some time out to challenge Joe Budden to a #BogeyOff (aka a cigarette smoking challenge). Today, during a sitdown with FUSE, Joey kindly declines saying he’s trying to quit. But if he wasn’t? It’d be a wrap for one Noreaga.
Over the course of their competitive friendship, N.O.R.E. beat Joe Budden in basketball while Joe won in spades. The next challenge? N.O.R.E. wants to out-smoke Joey with cigarettes. A battle I don’t condone, but it’s y’all lungs. Go!
Over the past month and some change, we’ve heard all about Consequence and Joe Budden’s issues on Love & Hip Hop. We saw Joe confront Cons during a Hot97 interview, we saw amateur footage of their (second) altercation, heard accounts from both Joe and Cons and now we’ve got actual footage. As aired tonight during the reunion show, the above clip shows Consequence (1:18 mark) coming from behind and punching Joe Budden square in the back of the head*. After the clip shows, the two continue to bicker back and forth until they try to meet in the green room and settle it like men. Overall? Hip Hop lost.
* Which was followed by Tahiry giving Cons a shot.
Emanny enlists fellow SLV member Joe Budden for the new single off his upcoming project, Songs About HER 2. And while their is no release date as of yet, this track and the first volume of the series should be more than enough to hold your attention.
During his time on MTV’s RapFix Live, Joe Budden speaks with Sway about hip hop’s obsession with Molly, his personal experiences with the drug,
Those conversations are confidential between us, but we definitely spoke about it. He shared some of his experiences; I’ve shared some of mine. It’s a real unique situation, because we’re signed there and he’s one of the greatest rappers ever in my opinion, but as just a person, it’s really like family.
Needlz’ artist Honors English is gearing up to drop the re-up of his last project, State Of The Art Reimagined 1.5, and for his first magic trick he gets Jumpoff Joe to provide an assist.
