Jimi Hendrix’s “Somewhere” was randomly released on the internet and now “Earth Blues” follows as the second release for Jimi’s upcoming, posthumous release entitled People, Hell & Angels (peep the tracklist after the jump). The recordings are placed between 1968 and 1969 and the entire album is due March 5th. Shouts to NME.
Earlier today, a Rakim track from 1995 surfaced to much of our surprise. Now, some vintage Jimi Hendrix has hit the internets as well. Two completely different artists, but still… today is a good day folks. This Hendrix track in particular is said to be recorded in 1968 around the time when Jimi was working on First Rays Of The New Rising Sun(the planned double-album follow-up to Electric Ladyland). Expect this, and 11 more tracks from the upcoming People, Hell & Angelscompilation to rock your world on March 5th (thanks to Legacy Recordings).
Long Island emcee/producer Erick Sermon contacts Swizz Beatz, Mone and 2011 XXL Freshman honoree Fred The Godson for his latest effort, Breath Of Fresh Air. Also featured is a bonus track with Sermon and Hendrix titled “A Way Out”. Shouts to Splash.
In similar fashion as his past project, Wu-Tang vs. The Beatles (no links, but if you Google, you’ll more than likely find a copy), Tom Caruana mashes up 36 parts Wu a capellas and collides it with some of the incomparable Jimi Hendrix’s catalogue of legendary music. What we’re presented with is a nuclear fusion of ill beats, rhymes and a dash of psychedelics. Tracklisting and download after the jump.
Influenced by the likes of Santogold, Coldplay, Jimi Hendrix, Kanye West and more; Harlem’s Cash gets over a mash up of Jimi Hendrix and 2Live Crew done by The Government. This is the first leak off his upcoming mixtape, On My Way to HARLEMwood (December 2nd) which serves as a precursor of his album, HARLEMwoow CASHifornia (which is looking at a Spring 2009 release).
When I Ev‘s Celeb Reality, his freestyle over Lil Wayne’s Let the Beat Build, all the Dilated heads came out the wood works. So here goes another freestyle from the Los Angeles emcee/producer. Over some classic Jimi Hendrix and left rough and dirty for obvious reasons. Can you name the song?
