Shout out to Bananaclipse‘ muse, Miss Jack Davey, for putting on helluva performance at SXSW. I’ll just say the shit had me contemplating calling my mother to ask where babies came from after she was done.

The apple of bananaclipse‘ eye, Miss Jack Davey, and Brook D’Leau were at Hollywood’s the Roxy last night performing cuts from their upcoming album, set to drop in June. Jeez, we can’t get that just a little bit sooner? Anyways, props to Jamil for the footage.
During a show in Portland, J*DaVeY covers the Nirvana classic.
I caught up with J*DaVeY in the green room at S.O.B’s for an interview. The duo made up of singer Jack Davey and producer Brook D’Leau jump into it by establishing what they bring to music that no one else does. They stress the importance of taking their art form seriously, while always managing to have fun. Jack and Brook were clear that they feel their label (Warner Bros) isn’t obligated to make them “pop” as much as they are supposed to make it happen organically. Jack touches on how “being a cute girl, who makes cute songs” isn’t enough, and the importance of writing your own material. They wrap it up with the declaration that they refuse to live “on the grid”. – Sam

I’m sure you all saw the promo teasers yesterday, well today you get a closer look at what UNI & J*DaVeY were doing in the same spot together. UNI and J*DaVeY were having a lunch at the restaurant Stuff I Eat in Inglewood discussing performances. It was an informal conversation that we stumbled on and gave you some bits and pieces as they discussed UNI’s newest member that will be at the show on April 2nd, , Miss Jack Davey’s “stage moves”, one of J*DaVeY’s former bass players and his weird antics, and of course a reminder about the show tomorrow night April 2nd. – eazee
