It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the James (2010′s When Worse Comes To Worst EP to be exact), but the Jersey emcee/producer is back with some new’ness.

Fresh from dropping The Very Worst Of J.A.M.E.S. Watts, the New Jersey spitter drops a remix EP produced entirely by Frank G of ISH Productions. Tracklist and link down bottom.
This clip features a Frank G-produced remix version of “Trust Me”; the OG version appears on “The Very Worst” as well 2006′s Shameless Promotion mixtape. Featuring Nick Casertano, this is a different, more grassroots take on the original song, while the video depicts a behind the scenes look at a typical late night session at Frank’s New Jersey lab.

For this video, Frank G & I took the sixth installment of the “Two Minute WarmUp” series, which featured a track from the legendary J Dilla, back into the studio in an attempt to capture the raw spirit and vibe of the original. Given the reflective nature of the song’s lyrics, it was only right that I got behind the camera once again to present it in a visual form.

This past Monday, I trekked through the Holland and over the Williamsburg to spend an hour with the gentlemen from DTF Radio’s Enter DaCypha show. During our sitdown, the fellas dug deep into my history as an artist, touching on topics ranging from the first verse that I ever wrote to the meaning of my name. Despite the fact that the interview was shorter than most, good times were had by all, and I was fortunate enough to record some footage of the evening’s key moments.

…don’t believe a word these rappers say
while they twitter from they desk, they 9 to 5′in everyday…
As promised, Mr. Watts is back with another Re-Fix. And this time he takes his chances with the classic Outkast instrumental.

Considering he’s been under the weather the past week, Mr. Watts’ latest Re-Fix went unmixed (and therefore.. not ready for release). Have no fear though, he’ll be back with two new ones next week. And instead of going without new music… Frank G lent his production abilities for a remix of James’ joint off the Inside A Change OST w/ A.P. riding shotgun.

PREVIOUS: J.A.M.E.S. Watts – Say You Will (The Re-Fix)

As you can tell by the subject line, like several other MCs, I decided to take my turn on Kanye West’s Say You Will instrumental — the thing is, this verse was written around the release of 808s & Heartbreaks, but given the number of Say You Will freestyles/remixes/covers that popped up in late 2008/early 2009, I opted to hold it back, waiting for the right time to record & release it.
It’s likely that every rapper that touched this beat went at it with a degree of introspection and vulnerability, and I’m no different — I feel as if I really poured my heart out on this one. Where other Re-Fixes have been more lighthearted and fun, Say You Will was all business, and I feel it serves as a real window to where I’ve been emotionally in regards to my music. Nonetheless, let it serve as a true introduction to the great things that I’m about to do next — in that, I thank you for your continued support of me and my craft.
