Both J Rawls and John Robinson have combined forces for their group Jay ARE. Together they made a project in ode to jazz music and the culture during that time period. Their album “The 1960′s Jazz Revolution Again…” not only meshes both jazz and hip hop together but carries the spirit of the times, as socio-political unrest also inspired some of the best music that is still cherished today. Props to J. Kim (no relation).
Ohh… now this is how you finish off a night! While I was out J-Rawls let me know I’d be getting some heat from him soon. And sure enough when I get home, the homie Rhettmatic hit me with a new project from the Lone Catalyst! If you aren’t up on Rawls, I feel bad, seriously. Step it up folks.
See… I told ya’ll we’d be back to the music shortly. Now that the RAoF is come and gone, how about a new mixtape from John Robinson? Featuring production from Flying Lotus, DJ Rhettmatic, J Dilla, MF DOOM and more. Also, be on the lookout Mr. Robinson’s upcoming album, Who Is The Man, which is entirely produced by MF DOOM and dropping January 27th on Highwater Music. Snagged from OKP, by way of RhymeHouse.
