J. Capri – Plagues (Mixtape)

The North Carolinian follows up his BornStars mixtape with Plagues.

Following a busy 2011, that included sharing stages with young rap superstars J.Cole, Mac Miller and Curren$y, J.Capri teams up with DatPiff.com and brings in the 3rd quarter of 2012 with his mixtape “Plagues. We may last remember hearing from Capri when he shared with us his “BornStars” mixtape (January 2012) that featured Kendrick Lamar (College Girls), Jon Connor and former Little Brother member “Big Pooh”. The follow up to the acclaimed mixtape “BornStars”, “Plagues” features 10 prophetic sounding records that is a mere showcase of J.Capri’s ability with uncanny wittiness, clever metaphors, and slick double time flows. “Plagues” delivers a strong, concise message and definitely does not disappoint. Stay tuned as there will be much more to come from Capri in the near future. See the trailer and download link below.

J. Capri – Skyscrapers f. Donny Goines (prod. Eric G)

Fresh off rocking the Southeast Region of The Rock the Bells Tour I am extremely proud to premiere the next leak from J. Capri’s project, Skyscrapers, featuring NYC heavyweight Donny Goines (“If you havent heard of me, i am not working hard enough” is his motto). 9th Wonder’s Soul Council member Eric G channels his inner Clams-Casino to produce an absolutely haunting and pulsating beat to set the tone for an eerie and moody composition. Capri and Goines trade verses about claiming their respective titles at the top of the warzone called the hip-hop game. They bring to life their struggles and overcomings that have taken them this far, and Capri goes so far as to say that he will have so much of an impact that when people will look at the tallest buildings in Raleigh, they will think of him. Lofty goals, but Capri is determined to make them a reality. Thank you so much for your time, please know all that you have done for us does not go unnoticed, we appreciate every post and all support!!!

J. Capri – Born Stars (Video)

I usually don’t fuck with the trap type beats, but this shit goes.

After absolutely smashing his tour dates with Mobb Deep, Raekwon, and Ghostface on the southeast portion of the Rock the Bells Livenation Tour, and being humbled to be in the presence of such legendary hip-hop artists, J. Capri decides to liberate an exclusive visual of the track that influenced the name of his project, BORNSTARS. J. Capri decimates the Don Cannon produced beat (originally “Final Hour” on Big Sean’s Finally Famous) and gives old and new fans a taste of what to expect on his project, while showcasing where he is from- Raleigh, N.C. The result will give you a better understanding of his hometown, visually, while reaffirming his hunger and determination to earn your support for his project. September 27th is the date. A big release date for North Carolina artists, but J. Capri is up to the challenge, and asks you to download and decide who is the best artist from the Tar Heel State.
