If you thought Governors Ball last night was the last time you were going to hear new music off Yeezus, think again. Hudson Mohawke — whose been playing new music from Mr. West for weeks — debuted yet another exclusive at the Parklife Festival in the UK over the weekend. Hud Mo played the presumably titled, “Could’ve Been Somebody” which is said that he produced with his TNGHT partner Lunice overseas at the Parklife Festival while Kanye performed even more new joints at the Governors Ball 2013 festival in New York City. After the jump, another listen of Ye’s dedication to his wifey, “Awesome.”
Before the duo of Hudson Mohawke and Lunice hit the road this week to play six big shows including Coachella next week and the Pitchfork Music Festical in July, they let loose of their latest track “Acrylics” on their Soundcloud page. Hit the jump for their complete summer itinerary.
Scottish producer and DJ Hudson Mohawke has reportedly inked a deal over at Mr. West’s homebase. Simon White, who represents the producer for United Management sent out this tweet today confirming that Hudson signed a deal with Kanye West’s “Very Good Beats,” which is the production arm of G.O.O.D. Music:
Yooooo congratulations to @hudmo for signing on as a G.O.O.D. Music producer with boss fella @kanyewest !!!
Mohawke is responsible for producing John Legend and Teyana Taylor’s Cruel Summer compilation track, “The Bliss,” co-producing “The One” and additional production on the LP’s opening number, “To The World.” Last month, Hudson, along with his TNGHT partner Lunice, brought out Mr. West during a show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
Yeezy made a surprise appearance at Hudson Mohawke and Lunice’s jam-packed show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg last night in Brooklyn during a crazy TNGHT-laced remix of his Cruel Summer track, “Cold.” Up top is a view from the crowd and down below is Kanye’s creative director Virgil Abloh’s view from behind the stage.
Here’s a free stream of the collaborative project from producers Hudson Mohawke and Lunice’s self-titled TNGHT EP. It’s available now on iTunes via Warp/LuckyMe.
