Despite having no actual statement from Ms. Grae, it’s safe to say it’s still true as there hasn’t been anything said to go against it. Whether the truth is there or not my man (and Senior Editor at HipHopDX) penned a letter to the rhyme spitter in hopes to keep her on track and recording the music we all want and love.

I finally finished these other parts of the video interview my man Jake Paine did with The Game for HipHopDX. The above clip has The Game speaking on Compton’s legacy and where he lands in the mix. He also checks Hov a bit. While after the jump he speaks on My Bitch (the Hov/Suge diss) and how it never took off like most expected. For the full interview check the plantation bitches!

The time is now almost 5pm and I have yet to eat. I do this far too much. Shitty! So as I head out to get some food I’ll leave you with two clips from HipHopDX’s interview with The Game. Above, Jayceon speaks on how he’s still the underdog in this hip hop shit! Then after the jump, he goes on to speak about not getting credit for the things he’s done in the industry. More to come of course.

I just put up a fantastic feature with Bruce Williams (Dr. Dre’s former right-hand-man) over at the plantation. Check as he talks on some crazy stories! From how Snoop’s Doggystyle was unfinished to behind th scenes action at The Source Awards in 1995 (east vs west rivalries were at an all time high). Bruce speaks on the real Death Row and Suge Knight.
When Suge walked up on that damn stage and said what he had to say about Puffy; The whole crowd erupted. It was about to be some shit. I looked around and said “Man, how the fuck are we going to get out of this spot.” You know how there’s chaotic tension? Where you feel like something may jump off but it doesn’t? It had that feeling. It took us to the point where we thought the whole arena was ready to throw down but it never got past that point.

I’ve gotta get some food in me or I might just pass out. First meal at 3:40pm is not the business. So I might be away from posting for awhile (might be longer as two great Game5′s are tonight). I wanted to leave ya’ll with this. The final part of my interview with Crooked I for HipHopDX. We speak on his first record deal with Virgin Records, his relationship with Death Row and the fate of his unreleased albums Say Hi to the Bad Guy and The Untouchable. He speaks on his problems with Snoop Dogg and comments on Snoop’s recent YouTube fuckery promoting a fight between The Game and Spider Loc. Speaking of fighting… Crooked I toe to toe with Kimbo Slice!?!

I’d like to start this post off with a big congrats to my man Crooked I for taking home the Best West Coast Mixtape Artist at the 11th Annual Mixtape Awards. I mean with v.1, 2 & 3 of his Hip Hop Weekly Mixtape with September 7th to his St. Valentine’s Day Bossace tape, dude deserves it. Now to further the “deserve’ness” I’m dropping his latest tape. Presented by HipHopDX, hosted by Crooked I, compiled and mixed by Shake and DJ Slimm (Shake & Bake). Artwork by Shake as well (FallDownDesigns). No battles here…just good music!

So as you all may or may not know, I tend to write non-scathing blogs for the plantation every once in a while. Right now my latest article on renowned photographer Jonathan Mannion is sitting at the front page for DX. I invite you all to check it out. Shake edit: He shot the cover for the Carter III!!!!!

Last year, Shake and HipHopDX put together a mixtape full of music from all the artists that would be attending the Paid Dues Festival. Slimm (our usual DJ) had issues and couldn’t take care of it, so I mixed the thing myself in a few hours and we got it to press. We titled it Independent As F*ck and printed up thousands of them. We passed them out at the show, put it up for free download, etc. The response was great. Now a year later and Paid Dues was in full effect once again. I didn’t get to attend because of A3C being the same weekend but it’s all good, DX was definitely a presence! We had DJ El.K mix this years tape and there’s music from all the artists that were on the bill. From Murs to Little Brother, Sage Francis to P.O.S., Boot Camp Clik, Dilated Peoples, Hieroglyphics and much more. Enjoy!

Before I head out for some delicious Atlanta food I figured I’d bless the viewers with the official mixtape for the A3C Festival (artwork by Shake). The homie DJ Wristpect did his thing and put together a mix with all the artists that will be performing for the three days (sans the Juice Crew as they signed on after the tape was done). Check for music from C.R.A.C., Clipse and the Re-Up Gang, Little Brother, Wale, Del, Akrobatik and more. Enjoy!
