These are not ‘pop’ songs. These are not video singles. These are not Top 10 hits.
This is the heart and soul of why I do what I do when I do it. This is a personal offering. It’s my huge THANK YOU to all of the people who have supported the Eternia & MoSS: “ROAD TO RELEASE” video episodes online over the last 6 months. I hand-picked these songs from the past decade, b/c I felt they are overlooked, they are the most personal to my life, and they reveal my growth as an artist.
First leak off Eternia’s upcoming mixtape, Get Caught Up, which will be presented by your favorite dopeboyz on the internets and KevinNottingham. Look for it to drop on December 15th. And you better not sleep, E gets it in.

In Episode #13 the world is introduced to super-producer MoSS. Admittedly an elusive cat, MoSS appears w/ Eternia on FLOW 93.5 FM in Toronto to debut the world premiere of a song from “AT LAST”. DJ Premier, Termanology & Statik Selektah speak on why MoSS is that dude, & MoSS gets excited over some banned vinyl from Chile. Just another day in the studio…
We posted the video a little while back. Here goes a CDQ download for anyone that wanted it. Off J.J. Brown’s Connect the Dots, dropping November 10th.
For episode 6 of “Connect The Dots.”, J.J. Brown takes you on a special behind-the-scenes tour of the music video set for his first official single “Gender Bender” available on iTunes October 13th, 2009! This episode also premieres the “Gender Bender” music video in its ENTIRETY.
“Gender Bender” (a “fender bender” of the sexes) is a tale of touring from the male and female perspectives, featuring underground hip-hop staple Eternia and newcomer fashion songstress Miz Metro. If you listen closely you’ll recognize a few of the lyrics, as this song is Brown’s homage to “Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous” by the legendary OG Ice-T.
In episode 12 of Eternia & Moss’ Road to Release video series…
Eternia & beatboxer Chesney Snow take us on a journey to the Midwest for the B-Girl Be 2009 Festival. E shoots around “E-Theories” with Evidence (Dilated Peoples), discusses the Midwest’s fave past time w/ DJ Chela, meets a die-hard supporter who drove 5 hours to see E rock, & fits in a lil’ target practice of her own. Who said anything about gun control?
Get ready for four mixtape posts in a row. Talk about a mass amount of material to check out! This should definitely be one of the first to check out though, as it boasts the highlights from Brown’s career as a producer. Including tracks with Apathy, Reef the Lost Cauze, Eternia, the Demigodz, Louis Logic, Ludacris, Poison Pen, R.A. the Rugged Man and more. The tape also introduces J.J. rocking the mic with exclusives and never before heard snippets from his upcoming album, Connect The Dots.
In Episode #11, Eternia provides a scathing critique of the “R.I.P. to All Female Emcees” media hype that recently surfaced. She builds with the legendary MC Lyte & Jean Grae, as all 3 ladies shut down the ‘where are all the female emcees?’ rhetoric that has run rampant. The episode also introduces two other emcees killing the game: True Daley & Nemiss, who murk the stage… and happen to be female.
It’s time to switch moods at the dopehouse for a minute as the above clip features Jessica Kaya (Eternia’s sister) performing (alongside guitarist Martin) at the Kamshuka Gallery Show in Toronto. Check as she does some smooth renditions of Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald as well as some original material. I guess talent runs in the family. I’ve also included a (throwback) bonus joint that was featured on Eternia’s Where I’m At (The Setup) project.
Episode 10 introduces the viewers to the musicians that play behind eternia (not like that). In the clip above they (DJ Boo, Chesney Snow & Colin Dean) are joined by Grammy-award winner Maya Azucena for an encore performance. Shouts to Pumpkinhead PH with the cameo. Good to finally meet you this weekend.

In Episode 9, eternia works with Project Reach Youth to spread the message of safe sex in Brooklyn. Answering questions about her upbringing and depictions of women in hip hop.
