More than half of Eminem’s 7.5 million in sales were taken by Recovery. Now past four million copies in the U.S. alone, Recovery was the best-selling album, period, of 2010. One-fourth of those albums sold digitally, making it the first album in history to sell more than a million non-physical copies, a mark it crossed just last month. Despite losing the Album of the Year Grammy in an upset to Arcade Fire, Recovery still took home Best Rap Album, Eminem’s fifth win that category. It also doesn’t hurt to have a crossover hit song to fuel album sales, and Recovery had a monster: the Rihanna-supported ballad “Love the Way You Lie,” which topped the Hot 100 for two months last year and probably fueled more soccer-mom album purchases for Shady than at any time in his career.

There once was a radio rip that became the CDQ… Royce’s Success Is Certain drops tomorrow (August 9th), and the NMC is hosting the official release party tomorrow night at New York’s SOBs, with LowKey on the mic and yours truly on the turntables. Cop the tickets below.

Eminem hit the stage in Chicago at Lollapalooza last night and performed in front of a 95k strong crowd with special guest appearances by by Royce Da 5’9″, Bruno Mars & Skylar Grey. Check out more footage down bottom.

For now, this is the closest we’ll get to an official collab between Em & Preme – maybe this will transpire into an EP or, at the least, a few Premo laced Em joints. This will appear on the iTunes deluxe version of Royce’s Success Is Certain out Aug. 9. Props to DJPB.

Royce scores his first chart topper (while Em takes home his eighth) as Hell: The Sequel lands at the #1 spot on Billboard w/ 166, 992 sold.

Eminem and Royce spoke with Converse about Hell: The Sequel, the Bad Meets Evil Converse Chuck Taylor’s and more. The Chuck Taylor’s will be available tomorrow, June 16, at the Converse flagship stores in New York City and Boston. Limited to 100 pairs.
