Duck Down Cipher in the Park (Video)

After a brief intro from Dru Ha; Buckshot, Rock, Steele, Naledge, Torae, Skyzoo and members of Team Facelift gather at Union Square Park in NYC and jump start a classic cipher. (2)Dope indeed!

Random Axe (Sean Price x Black Milk x Guilty Simpson) Sign to Duck Down (Video)

Duck Down announces our most recent coup in the acquisition of Black Milk, Guilty Simpson and Sean Price as the super group Random Axe.

Very fucking dope! You also get some bars from Mic Tyson himself. Now if Hex will get off his king kong sized ass [II] and send me some shit I’ll be able to premiere the first leak off the album haha.

Skyzoo Inks Deal w/ Jamla x Duck Down Records!

Speaking of Duck Down… Skyzoo has inked a deal to release his upcoming album! On August 11th Sky will be releasing his long awaited debut, The Salvation, through Jamla/Duck Down Records.

I don’t think there has been a debut album this cohesive and cinematic in years. The lyrics give you the ability to visualize everything being said over the beats.

Doing the deal with Jamla and Duck Down made sense in more ways than one. As far as Jamla, 9th Wonder was the main person who let me kick in the door to get in this game and build a fan base via our Cloud 9 EP, so it made perfect sense to bring it back full circle. Duck Down has always held the flag for dope music – raw hip hop in its purest sense, and I’m glad to be contributing to that.

9th Wonder added his (positive) thoughts as well…

Skyzoo is established, and a very talented Emcee. We decided for him to be first because of that pure talent, drive and work ethic. He casts words in his rhymes that deserve to be studied by scholars. We believe that Sky has what it takes to make the first steps for Jamla and he believes it as well, which is important for him, for us and for our music.

Torae x Sean Price x Craig G x Big Noyd x R.A. the Ruggedman (Video)

As much as I’d like Rihanna on top (see what I did right there?), the show must go on. Above is the latest installment of Foundation Fridays.

Check out footage from The Foundation Album Release Showcase presented by the Lyricist Lounge & Coalmine Records. Here are some of the evening’s highlights featuring Craig G, Big Noyd, Torae, R.A. The Rugged Man & Heltah Skeltah. Watch Sean Price get heated at the soundman and threaten to walk off stage at least 3 times. Oh… and is that a Necro dis in Craig G’s verse…hmmm?!?! Stay tuned for Part 5 of Foundation Fridays droppin next week as UGHH.com sits down with Craig G for an introspective look into the uncooked beef between the former Juice Crew legend and Necro. Be sure to cop The Foundation at UGHH.com.

Also, hit the jump for a new video featuring Sean Price & Inspectah Deck…

Tek (of Smif-N-Wessun) – WeLiveThis Interview (Video)

In part 1 (of 3) of Tek’s interview with WeThisThis; the Smif-N-Wessun member talks about how the group was established, the making of Dah Shinin’ and why the Rawkus album was never released. Some nice tidbits in this one.

General Steele – A Toast to Brooklyn f. Buckshot & Jo Chris

Before I ignore the internets for a bit — to wrap up a few projects — here’s a fresh leak (that I premiered at the plantation) off the upcoming Welcome to Bucktown OST, presented by Steele (of Smif-N-Wessun). A project that features Brooklyn emcees; Stimuli, Boot Camp Clik, Shabaam Sahdeeq, UG (of the Cella Dwellas), Blahzah Blahzah, Smoothe Da Hustler & Trigger the Gambler. A list of artists that Steele  said…

…fit the cast so to speak; who could carry that 70′s energy naturally through their personal contributions. I carefully picked out each track and then I wrote down whom I would like featured on that particular song. Everyone who is featured on this soundtrack did so out of love and respect, which we all share for each other and is what this project is about…our love and supreme respect for the game and what we bring to it. I salute each and everyone who participated.

Production comes from the likes of Da Beatmierz (of Black Moon), DJ Revolution, Ayatollah, 7VEN H.D., Che Triumph, Sic Beats, J. Scrilla, Kevorkian & Suaze. Look for Welcome to Bucktown to drop May 5th. Hit the jump for the artwork and tracklist…

Endemic – I’m Show You f. Sean Price & Ruste Juxx

Repping Nottingham, England; UK producer Endemic released his debut album, Terminal Illness, which features a slew of dope emcees. Ranging from Sean Price to Killah Priest, Hell Razah to Planet Asia. To help get the word out, I figured I would post the two Sean Price assisted cuts. Comin to Kill has already been released, but I’m sure it had tags. This doesn’t. I also included a non-album bonus featuring Killah Priest & Timbo King. Shouts to Nibs on the heads up.
