Because Cassie (fucked up haircut included) is much easier on the eyes than Dre and Jimmy Iovine.
While attending the Culo by Mazzucco book and art exhibition launch at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery in NYC last night, Dre spoke with GlobalGrind about his aspirations to be second to Apple and his future in music.
I am never going to give music up. Music is like air to me, [music] is like oxygen, so I am always doing that. As soon as I get back to Los Angeles, I am back in the studio doing my thing. I have a couple of new artists that I am excited about, Kendrick Lamar and Slim The Mobster. These are the next two artists, and these are probably my final two artists that I am going to be working with at least for the next couple of years. I am going to devote all my attention to them and make sure their sh*t comes out the way it should be. I am just having fun with life right now!
Dre Intro, Snoop Acceptance Speech & Who Am I? Live f. Bootsy Collins, Game, Kurupt, Warren G, Daz Dillinger, The Lady of Rage, and Charlie Wilson
Last night, a few legends, including Bootsy Collins, Dre, NaS & Game, and some other artists took the time out to show up at the BMI Urban Awards where Snoop was being honored with the BMI Urban Icon Award. Hit the jump for NaS & The Dogg Pound’s performance of The Next Episode and more. Props to The RapUp.
The flick above surfaced awhile back showing the trio in the studio working on something for Game’s LP. And now that The R.E.D. Album is supposed to drop on August 23rd, DHH lets loose the actual song.
Much like his Black Hippy cohort Kendrick Lamar, Jay Roc also gets the stamp of approval from the West Coast legends. Follow Me Home finally drops tomorrow (July 26th).
I’ll be honest; I really don’t know anything about Tito Lopez. But after hearing that performance in the start (I need the legit audio of that song, by the way) I’m definitely interested in hearing more from the Mississippi-bred guy Dre dubbed “The Voice Of The Underdog.”
“This album is the most incredible album of my career.” Haven’t we heard that about each and every album he’s put out? *shrugs… anyways, Game chops it up with MTV about The R.E.D. Album, which is still said to drop August 23rd. Features and production from Nelly Furtado, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, Hitboy, Cool & Dre, Lex Luger and more.
So we get two new verses from Dre’s Detox single, but no Detox. Anyways, this was slated to be on the original remix that dropped many moons ago. Props to Nav.
Lists are always a great way to rile up folks in both a positive and negative way. Obviously no one’s list will be the same as the next man, so it always confused me why some people get extremely angry when another person’s doesn’t quite match up. With all that said, XXL has listed what they believe to be the top 250 hip hop songs of the 90′s, giving the top spot to Dr. Dre’s Nuthin’ But A G Thang (shouts to MTV for getting that info). The complete list can be found in the special edition issue that hits stands on May 24th.
I’m sure Dr. Dre being number one will already get y’all going in the c-section, but let’s spice it up a bit. List off you’re personal Top 10 tracks from 1990-1999.
As shown in the end of the clip above, Die Hard featuring Eminem will be debuting on the final episode of Camp 360: Pacquiao/Mosley, May 10th at 10pm on Showtime.
Dr. Dre’s ad for the 2012 Chrysler 300 S series. The new Chrysler comes equipped with a Beats By Dre system that features 10 speakers. Kendrick Lamar sighting at the :27 mark.
