Buddy, buddy, buddy all up in your face.

Even though they’re usually not brought up in G.G.O.A.T. conversations, Naughty By Nature is perhaps the most unheralded group ever, finding a way to mix in a hardcore sound that everybody could dance to without it coming off soft as shit and leaving a plethora of classic cuts in their wake. But this autobiographical cut with Treach on the horn is not only my favorite Naughty cut, but perhaps the crew’s shining moment as well. Too bad Juelz Lupe’d this shit up on that Hip Hop Honors show.

This song could have probably ruined Jay-Z’s career if it had come out today. Instead, it dropped during a time where everybody was quasi’d out, and duke was able to power past this atrocity to become what he is now.

I’m sure everybody is aware of how M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” has been bludgeoned to death since the release of “S.L.U.,” but for this session of the Mix EP I’m going with the rest of the cuts that got sampled for Clifford’s album.
