While some of you wait for Malice N Wonderland album to drop on December 8th. Snoopy decided to link up with DJ Whoo Kid, DJ Skee and DJ Scream for a mixtape. Featuring Ice Cube, Nipsey Hu$$le, The-Dream and more. Shouts to RadioPlanet.
Pill’s new mixtape 4075: The Refill will be dropping tomorrow. Until then, here are two joints that DJ Skee premiered this past Saturday. Rips courtesy of TSS.
At first listen, Jack Splash’s lyrics are glitzy & inspired by living the life. But with an open ear, the differences between the mixtape and Jack’s previous work with Plantlife are apparent. Before the glamor there was the grind, evidenced on “Baatin.” There was the study of musical styles that you hear in the words & sounds used for “Charlie Wilson” & “Rick James.” If you listen closely, you’ll hear the words and sounds from the guy who had a hand in finding Keys and crafting a Legend. The guy who shaped the sounds of Missy and Jamie. The guy who influenced anybody famous enough to go by one name.
I know the dopeboyz/girlz have been feeling everything Freddie Gibbs since we initially started showing support so it’s only right we drop off his latest project w/ DJ Skee.
As fresh on the scene as his name may seem, Freddie Gibbs is not a newcomer by any means. After a less than fruitful stint with Interscope, Gibbs’ name still rings bells with industry cats, but the listening public isn’t wasn’t aware (emphasis on the past tense). The past few months have seen the Gary-raised rapper regrouping and taking control of the direction of his career, making it his task to make sure that people knew his name & skills. At this point and after the Miseducation…tape, I think it’s safe to say he has the listening ear of many and the potential to gain even more fans.
We’ve posted a decent amount of joints from Will Roush, now it’s time to let loose of his latest mixtape. Presented by DJ Skee & DJ Whoo Kid; the conceptual mixtape is themed around the idea of Roush (a new artist) travelling back in time to learn all about hip hop’s incredible history, before moving foward with his own rap career. And while I’m at it, shouts to my man Gooch!
Chester links up with DJ Drama & DJ Skee for the first ever R&B Gangsta Grillz mixtape. We’ve already got like 4-5 tagless tracks, so I’m sure a full Drama-less version will leak soon enough. UPDATE: Updated with HQ download as the previous link was an Imeem rip. Thanks Skee.
So I took a slight break from the site to watch the game and I see a few things hit the internets. Up first is a Skeemix of Drake’s smash hit. Off the upcoming Drama x Skee x Kelz mixtape, The Demo Tape.
