At this point, Del The Funky Homosapien & Tame One have little to prove to anyone. Both legends in their own right, the two super emcees are striving mostly for their own creative satisfaction. In this clip, they speak on their inspiration, their subject matter, and how their collaboration came about. The album Parallel Uni-Verses is out this week on Gold Dust.
Cop the album or slap yourself silly. Props to Steven.
The Mash Up caught up with Del after his show and in Part 1 of this interview we spoke on his new album, Parallel Uni-Verses, the project with Tame 1, if there’s going to be a new Heiro and Gorillaz album, why did he switch up his style, the new breed of CA hip hop, his bay upbringing and how it influenced him, and writing for Ice Cube.
Here goes a joint that didn’t make the final cut of Del & Tame’s upcoming album, Parallel Uni-Verses, which drops October 13th. Stream the album in it’s entirety now over at Del’s MySpace.
Del The Funky Homosapien & Tame 1′s collaborative album Parallel Universes is a meeting of the minds set to take hip-hop back to its creative watershed era. The two briefly discuss the record, which will be out October 13th on Gold Dust.
First video off Del & Tame’s upcoming project, Parallel Uni-Verses, which is set to drop October 13th on Gold Dust. Shot this past Summer in Brooklyn. And if you’re digging the record, hit up iTunes and support.
We’re still keeping it underground around these parts right now…
Two architects of lyric-driven hip-hop, Del & Tame One aren’t trying to re-invent the wheel on their forthcoming album Parallel Uni-Verses. You won’t find hot ticket features, glossy production, meditations on space travel, or posthumous contributions from fallen legends. What you will find, something that comes along less frequently you might think, is a perfect marriage of raw breakbeat backing tracks with thoughtful, clever rhymes that actually flow. Simply put, your basic hardcore hip-hop. And what a relief it is. Parallel Uni-Verses will be out October 13th on Gold Dust.
Another dope artist from the North West featured on 2dbz? You bet.
On June 30th the Oldominion emcee will be releasing his third album, Hesitation Wounds [pre-order here], on Strange Famous Records . The follow up to one of my favorite albums in 2005 (Christopher); the album features Del the Funky Homosapien, Grayskul and production from the likes Reanimator, Smoke, Zebulon and more. With that said I’d like to post the first single.
The first single will be Talk About It, an old school-style cut displaying a dizzying flow produced by SFR labelmate Reanimator. Lyrically, Sleep takes a battle stance against manufactured artists while refusing to dilute his style or message for the sake of mainstream acceptance.
Sitting here, bored out of my skull I decide to sift through my inbox; in an attempt to clean it out (which is never gonna happen) I see a few missed emails. One being a reminder that Del just dropped his latest album (for free). The dopehouse is four days late on the post, but nowadays that’s like 4 months behind haha. Also, above you can watch the official video for his single, Get It Right Now.
